Okay I didn’t know this exiested and this helped a lot. Thank you. One last question: Do you know the punishment for attempting to sell the codes? Not that I would ever do that (never ever).
Okay I understand. How do they know though? I heard that the game codes need to pair up with the specific graphics card that you purchased, but I didn't know if that was true.
I mean I have a code, what's stopping me from giving someone else the code?
In what way is it linked to the purchaser, through the graphics card, an account, an IP address?
Hi there, me again. I am getting close to posting my graphics cards on Amazon and I am wondering if this is something I should do on the side to make a little extra money. It seems like work I can really get into. Do you know if reselling computer parts on Amazon (or anywhere) is at least a somewhat profitable venture? I see a lot about seller fees and I'm seeing a 15% number jumping around and that honestly sounds like kind of a joke for someone trying to make a profit. I look forward to hearing back from you and thank you for your time!
Edit: I am trying to post a SAPPHIRE Vega 64 but it says I need approval to do so. Any help?
I appreciate the offer but I already got a friend to do it. Thanks!
I appreciate it, thanks for the consideration and I'd be happy to sell to anyone you know, just have them message me here. Thanks!
I’m looking for 480 for the Strix Vega 56.
I would greatly appreciate that. Do you know they’re fees for posting/selling? I can’t seem to get the same answers from looking it up. I also can’t seem to learn how to sell anything. Thanks so much for your time.
Sounds good man, go ahead and think about it and let me know. Good luck!
The one you are looking at is most likely a used one. Mine is brand new.
I’m looking to get $380 for one of them.
I ended up going for it. I'll keep you updated and ask any questions if I have them. My account was charged and it says the estimated delivery is December 6-10, so I'm assuming it shipped. Although I cannot find a tracking number. Do you know where a tracking number would be located? It says it's being shipped through USPS Priority Mail.
I put another bid in because I saw the 100% positive feedback but you are right. Thanks for messaging back by the way. I have very little idea what I'm doing and I'll keep you updated as to what goes on. Should I go for the item because of eBay's Buyer Protection Program? It says that if I don't get the item as described, I get my money back.
Alright thanks for the info man. I will heavily consider it and probably just go for it.
I have a Reference Vega 64 on hand though. This is a tough decision to make. Do you think I should go for the slightly more expensive Used Strix Vega 56 or keep with my slightly less expensive new Reference Vega 64?
Also, do you think this is a good deal? https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-ROG-Radeon-RX-Vega-56-STRIX-Graphics-Card-STRIX-RXVEGA56-O8G-GAMING/254003349857?hash=item3b23c78961:g:-F0AAOSwi7Vb9WXD
Yeah I feel that. I caught it at $499 but I was too stupid to jump on it. Would you recommend going for the Strix Vega 56 as there is a bigger price difference between them? And I’ll look for a lightly used one.
Do you suggest me buying a refurbished or used one? Or should I sell my kidney and go with a new one. And either way, where are good places to look for deals?
Corsair 570x RGB.
I’m going with the Corsair 570x. Does the airflow warrant the upgrade? Even if it doesn’t, I’m considering just doing it for the swag points.
I have decided on the Vega 64. Should I go for the the Strix if it comes back down to 499 or stay with the 399 dollar reference design?
Cool, I’ll go with the 550. There are three more spots for case fans so I’m going to go ahead and order them. I have had a great experience talking to you man and I really appreciate it. Have a good holiday season!
I agree, I'm liking this Taichi. I think I have the final build. How does this look? Anything that could be improved? Is 750w too big of a power supply for this build?
Oh okay I see! I found out that it's an x370 (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132987). Is this still a good deal? I have narrowed it down to either the one you suggested, the Prime x470-Pro, or I just splurge and get a damn Crosshair. I am in the home stretch!
Alright man, I really appreciate your help, I have read every word and am starting to make decisions. The Vega 64 has been ordered and I am going to jump on the 2700x when it dips again. I have pretty much decided on everything except for the motherboard. This sounds a little picky but I’m not a fan of the orange. The Asus ROG Crosshair Hero is on sale for 189 at Newegg. I know that’s a very expensive board but this is an amazing deal and it looks good (I like that the board it mostly black with a little red). Another board I liked was the Asus Prime X470 Pro. Any reccomendations? I think this is the last part I need to make a decision on before ordering everything.
I hate to keep bothering you but you have a lot of knowledge on the subject.
GPU: I am not fully aware of the advantages or disadvantages of using an Nvidia GPU with a freesync monitor as I have only even known using an RX 480 with freesync. I am not fully AMD brand loyal and would go for the 2070 if need be. That Vega 64 is overpriced though, the Vega 64 I see is 399 at Newegg. I have a 144hz monitor. I don’t know if I would experience tearing without freesync or not. I have no idea what to do here.
Motherboard: I know that I’m supposed to get a different motherboard depending on the CPU. I would like one with an Ethernet port, little bit of RGB, and under 200 by a good amount preferably. Oh and I like them black. I do not care about WiFi capabilities.
CPU: I am seeing a noticeable difference in frames between the 2600 and 2700x at 1440p, which is what I game at. 20-30% difference in many cases. It seems to me that the 2700x would be worth the money as it then comes with a good RGB cooler. So then I’d be looking at an X470 if I go down that road.
PSU: I’ll go with that one, thank you
Hi there! First of all, I thank you for your time, it means a lot.
GPU: I have a freesync monitor and have decided to go the Vega route, either 56 or 64. The 64 is on par with the 1080 in many games while being significantly cheaper but it does run hot, especially with the reference version, and that's a concern of mine. I have looked at the 2070 a lot but I have a freesync monitor and don't want to not be able to utilize it as I want to be able to see frames in between 60 and 144.
CPU: You are right about the $150 deal being out of stock for the 1700x. This does make the 2700x look more appealing. I don't know a ton about stock coolers or after-market CPU coolers, but if you say the 2700x is good with it's cooler, I'm happy with that. The 2600 is also a possibility. I don't know how good it would be with it's stock cooler, but I am looking to stream/game and also have music on so I was thinking a wanted a Ryzen 7 to do all of that seamlessly.
CPU Cooler: I know very little about CPU coolers as well, just that I want an air one. I will do more research and read what you put as well.
Motherboard: I know nothing about motherboards. I have tried my best to research but I am immune to learning in this field. I appreciate any information on which motherboard is best for which CPU/GPU as any of it is news to me.
Hi! I probably should have said this in the post; I already have a hard drive.
There is a $150 price difference between them right now, I can’t justify the upgrade at these price levels. Where have you seen any of these deals?
The price difference is a major issue; you are right. I am attracted to the fact that the 1700x doesn’t come with a cooler because I can now go find a better cooler and I didn’t have to pay for one I wouldn’t use, like with the 2700x. I am not experienced with overclocking so I don’t know how simple it is, but with my last build, I threw in the GPU/CPU and never touched them and I am used to that. I think I have made my decision, thanks!
I am leaning towards Vega with the Vega 64 being on sale for 440 right now. I don’t know if I should get an aftermarket card with three fans or just go with the reference design though. I don’t have much time to think about it as Black Friday is coming up and I am definitely buying my parts then.
I have a 1440p 144hz monitor now. The 64 is fairly cheap right now st 440 but it’s the regular-style card and not an aftermarket one with three fans like the Sapphire Nitro+ or something. Does that make a huge difference?
How do you feel about me splurging and going r7 2700x with high quality everything else, but the 590. Then getting Navi later? Or should I not be holding on to Navi and just buy a damn Vega.
What about crossfire 580’s?
Ah, okay. Do you believe the GPU’s that are coming out later this year will be used for gaming?
I know about RTX. I forgot to link an article referring to a new GPU launch from AMD, my bad.
What do you make of this?
Do you have any advice or opinions for or about my build? I have done extensive research and am getting a Vega 64.
Do you have any advice for my build? I have done extensive research and am going to be getting the Vega 64.
How do you feel about the Core P3 with the Curved Tempered Glass mod? It looks pretty damn cool.
I like the look of the Core P5. Do you know of any major downsides to the P5 like airflow?
Alright, I will consider what you wrote and probably look over it multiple times before making a decision. I appreciate your advice so much. Have a good day!
One more thing. Would airflow not be as much of a concern in the Thermaltake View 37 if I water cooled?
Thanks for the advice. I'll go with the white one because I think it looks cool. Will any motherboard titled X470 perform similarly? That is a good point with the stock cooler, I can exchange later if needed; I'll go with the stock for now. I've heard that water coolers can be dangerous or tedious because of potential leaks and they are harder to manage but that they perform much better, is that not true? Thank you for finding it for me, I have been looking for it for days. The Thermaltake View 37 is the that I saw and loved. Is there any way to make my current build work in that case?
Thanks for the list, I’ll take a look at it!
Looks pretty good to me, I just have a few questions. Is the CPU cooler that much better than the stock cooler? I feel like if I get a get an aftermarket cooler, i might as well make the jump to liquid cooling. I’ve done a little bit of research on the stock cooler and it’s not bad, RGB too.
Is there a difference between these two motherboards?
Lastly, I remember seeing a case that has curved glass that bent up that I wanted but I can’t find it anymore. Maybe I was just seeing things. I cannot decide on a damn case, I have been looking for awhile now. I don’t really need to build this computer for another couple weeks, so I have some more time to research, but I thought I’d get a parts list going now.
Hi! I appreciate your effort in helping me.
Streaming and Gaming/Possibly getting into editing
I am not planning on overclocking unless I need to, i.e., I’m desperate for extra frames
I don’t care about the size as long as it fits all the parts and isn’t a monolith. I saw a couple of casss with curved glass and thought they looked pretty slick; If I could find an adorable one of those, I’d jump on it. I thought about going with a white build because I think it could look cool but I can’t find the G.Skill RGB ram in white (yes, I am I willing to sacrifice the whole “white” idea because of the ram, it just looks too damn good). As for functionality, I’m not 100% sure. I hope that’s not too open-ended.
Just as a note, I am buying the graphics card and then I have an 8-900 dollar budget for the rest of the parts, and I can go over that, I just cannot hit the 1,000 mark. So adding the 515 for the gpu, the absolute MAXIMUM I can spend is 1514, but I would much rather keep it around 13-1400 total. I added a motherboard that I thought looked cool (that’s the metric you go by when you are uneducated), so I added it to the list.
Thank you for your time!
Hi. I have a freesync display and have been looking at different GPU’s for the better part of two weeks. The better value is the Vega 56 but the 64 is still an upgrade that I am willing to make. Money is only worth the computer parts it can buy. Feel free to interfere, I have decided on the 2700x because it is the best of the best from the red team without bankrupting me, but I am nowhere near set on that decision. I was also looking at the 1700x, which is appealing because I don’t have to pay for a stock cooler and can go out and get a better one. Although the stock for the 2700x isn’t bad at all. I appreciate you responding. Thoughts?
Hi. I meant to say that you have been the most helpful. I have gotten great help from others as well. Ignore how many posts I have made, I haven’t found a way to delete them and I’m learning so much that it renders previous posts redundant because I have already learned the answer to my own question. I will take a look at the parts list in depth, I appreciate you making it. This is not my first time building a pc. My friend (actual computer builder) and I in high school a few years back built an RX 480/i5 4690k build that was meant for 1440p gaming and it is has worked like an absolute dream. My brother moved out for college recently and I am going to give him my computer and build one for Gaming/Streaming/VR. The more I look at the Sapphire Nitro cards, the more I like them (especially compared to other Vega’s). I understand that the most price efficient would be to pick up a 56, but I’m considering grabbing the 64 for future-proof purposes and, more importantly, style points. As for the CPU, the Ryzen 1700 and 1700x are the same price, but, apparently, one comes with an insufficient cooler for overclocking. That’s why I am leaning towards grabbing the 1700x and getting a good cooler. I am open to getting a more expensive CPU if I’m talked into it though. I can’t think of anything else. RAM prices vary wildly for what appears to be the same product, why? And what makes a motherboard a good motherboard or a bad motherboard for streaming/gaming and how much does my choice actually matter.
That was a ton and I deeply appreciate you helping me these past few days. I hope you have a good week!
I have those already.
