It'll handle most games with some compromises. I don't have a lot of games yet but I can play War thunder, TF2, Warframe, Fortnite, Dota 2, and Forza Motorsport 6 Apex at smooth framerates at 900p (monitor's res)

hmm. my PC booted fine and is functioning perfectly. This is the first time I've heard of these bios issues. I can't speak for other mobo manufacturers, but i don't think asrock has these issues

This build should perform well for both of you; your son's games will run fine, but games like GTA and fallout may need some settings turned down.

What I meant when I said this pc would have to last me 4 years is that I will be upgrading this system over time to keep it up to date, so my ram will be upgraded

I didn't opt for dual channel memory because this pc is going to last me at least four years, and It would be much easier just to add another stick of 8 gb. In retrospect I should've gone for a 1050

I got this gpu on Newegg for $110. Unfortunately I can't tell you how it does in 1080p because I only have a 900p monitor, but in 900p I get 80-110 fps on War Thunder at the max settings. Don't buy this card for Quake Champions. It's in beta and no one is playing it. If I could do this over again I would have gotten a gtx 1050.

I'll take that into consideration. I'm still looking at storage options. I could salvage a 750gb had from my old phone but I'm not sure
