I have that same case and mine is stuffed with hardware. You can fit a ton of stuff in this case. Very nice build and thank you for your service to our country.
Interesting pc case!
@Ben. Given what psu he had I think he did a great job. Without buying another psu that you really don't need he did a great job with what he had.
Ima go with a +1 on this.
You could really do yourself a favor and get one of these:
I made the mistake of buying a mobo that didn't have the 19pin usb port and bought one of these to add.
+1 For obvious reasons. Very nice build.
Looks like you did a great job on it. Priceless hearing your first reactions to seeing games you have played for a while on that laptop and then getting to see it on a real pc. Cool name too.
Cthill approves this build!
I've never had any issues out of it. Seems to have good signal. No extra drivers needed. As soon as I install Windows 8.1 OS it recognized the adapter.
I bet that dog was in that chair during the entire build process.
Like the others have said. Get an aftermarket cpu cooler. I use a H100i but if you are not really up to spending that much money on a cooler I would suggest something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. It is cheap, works great and even helps make your build look a lil cooler. I have built 4 pcs from the ground up for people and I never let one out of my sight with the stock cooler. Enjoy your build! +1
How well does this machine do with facets, point clouds and surfacing? I use several cad programs and do a lot of surfacing and reverse engineering. We always seem to have things slow down with the point clouds.
Nice clean desk and clean cable management. +1
Very cool project. It is always nice to see people build a pc to a specific purpose. I know almost everyone here wants to see gaming builds but I do like seeing people build custom to a purpose.
What is the problem exactly that makes you think the MOBO is fried?
Do you have both power cables to the mobo good and tight? The 24 pin and the 6 pin?
Are those Lutr0 Custom cables?
Looks like it to me but maybe you did it yourself.
Looks really nice to me. More pics would be great though. +1
What cable management? This guy is using some sort of cable vanishment! Very good job of how you should route cables.
Sweet build! Very nice looking very professional looking.
Yeah Whatever, we know you are in with Mr. Claus.
Christmas Colors! Will go well next to your tree!
For a first time builder this is awesome. You are doing it right bro!
He is probably wanting to have a separate drive for the OS. It also spreads out the chances of having a drive failure and having total loss.
I did have fun with it. You know what they say, "The true handyman will be busy!" Two more towers not shown as well.
Lets all be nice to the new people.
We really like to see pics of the build. Especially the inside. Please take some pics and update.
Very nice to see somebody build a nice small computer and still do some nice cable management. Very nice build for the cheap. Good job.
So far I do all my own work but I'm open to learning from the pros! I'm currently doing my own cable sleeving with parts from Lutro0 customs.
Well I thought for sure somebody else would have asked by now but not so.
So can we have the link to your site? Very nice work I am interested in knowing more about your business. Thanks!
You could replace the zip ties with this:
This guy knows his stuff, check it out.
Do you have any links for the plastic clips and also I am looking for some good material for cable sleeving. I am going to do blue and red colors for my cables. Any ideas on where to get good cable sleeving?
Mine is every changing and I now have a ton of fans and lights. I moved one of the fans to the door and love it. Really neat lights and tough case design. I use it as night light in my living room, keeps me from tripping over stuff in the living room at night.
Very nice! I have this case and it now is almost stuffed. I just added extra lights and another GPU for SLI. Enjoy your build.
Very nice. White is not my thing but it looks like you did it right! Enjoy your machine! And may the force be with you.
Can something like this actually have a payoff? I am super noob on the issue of mining. So seriously can it ever payoff?
5 for doing it yourself! Very nice.
Look great. Final picture of your room looks very nice.
Alas! I am not the only one in the world that eats gummy worms while at my pc!
Very nice bargain, take care of it!
Hey I have the same case and here is the link for it on this site. Its under the number not the name of the case.
Very nice btw.
I added 2 200 mm fans to the top of the case and moved the 200mm fan that is already on top to the door. Kinda tight fit to my gpu but it does fit. Really gets the air flowing for sure and is only about a 30 upgrade. I used a 12" fan extension and connected the color shift fans to the fan controller on the front panel of the case. Just a suggestion.
Here in lies the perfect example of you should take pictures of your build! Very nice. Long live Plex Media Server too!
Very nice. I use Pro-E daily for work and we have switched to the nvidia k2000 professional series cards. They work much better for point clouds, surfacing and assemblies. Good luck to you while in school.
Nice case and great build, hope she likes it!
You really should get those cables under control. I have this same case and I have way more fans then your current build. It is tricky to do the cables but well worth it. Good luck and hope you enjoy your machine!
Are you running those drives in a RAID config?
Very nice work. I think you did a great job with the black and red color scheme. Hope you enjoy it and thanks for sharing!
Very nice, so close to the same build as mine!
You can also take the iso file of the OS and mount it to a flash drive, then boot from the flash drive. Never needing a optical drive. FYI
That dog! lol I bet he helped a lot with the build! Very nice btw.
Um I hope you mean that you have a DVD. Any way, just start the install and when it asked for you to sign in with microsoft account hit create new account, then when the creation screen comes up at the bottom it should say sign in without account. It has worked for me several times. We use it to make sure the os works with our programs before we waste a license on it.
Or better yet you can download win 8 with out getting a key and then install with out a key and it will be good for about 30-90 days depending on how many times you rearm it.
May the force be with you! :)
