You could really do yourself a favor and get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00E59W1G8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I made the mistake of buying a mobo that didn't have the 19pin usb port and bought one of these to add.

Looks like you did a great job on it. Priceless hearing your first reactions to seeing games you have played for a while on that laptop and then getting to see it on a real pc. Cool name too. Cthill approves this build!

I've never had any issues out of it. Seems to have good signal. No extra drivers needed. As soon as I install Windows 8.1 OS it recognized the adapter.

Like the others have said. Get an aftermarket cpu cooler. I use a H100i but if you are not really up to spending that much money on a cooler I would suggest something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. It is cheap, works great and even helps make your build look a lil cooler. I have built 4 pcs from the ground up for people and I never let one out of my sight with the stock cooler. Enjoy your build! +1

How well does this machine do with facets, point clouds and surfacing? I use several cad programs and do a lot of surfacing and reverse engineering. We always seem to have things slow down with the point clouds.

What is the problem exactly that makes you think the MOBO is fried? Do you have both power cables to the mobo good and tight? The 24 pin and the 6 pin?

He is probably wanting to have a separate drive for the OS. It also spreads out the chances of having a drive failure and having total loss.

Mine is every changing and I now have a ton of fans and lights. I moved one of the fans to the door and love it. Really neat lights and tough case design. I use it as night light in my living room, keeps me from tripping over stuff in the living room at night.

Hey I have the same case and here is the link for it on this site. Its under the number not the name of the case. http://pcpartpicker.com/part/thermaltake-case-vn300m1w2n

Very nice btw. I added 2 200 mm fans to the top of the case and moved the 200mm fan that is already on top to the door. Kinda tight fit to my gpu but it does fit. Really gets the air flowing for sure and is only about a 30 upgrade. I used a 12" fan extension and connected the color shift fans to the fan controller on the front panel of the case. Just a suggestion.

You can also take the iso file of the OS and mount it to a flash drive, then boot from the flash drive. Never needing a optical drive. FYI

Um I hope you mean that you have a DVD. Any way, just start the install and when it asked for you to sign in with microsoft account hit create new account, then when the creation screen comes up at the bottom it should say sign in without account. It has worked for me several times. We use it to make sure the os works with our programs before we waste a license on it.

Or better yet you can download win 8 with out getting a key and then install with out a key and it will be good for about 30-90 days depending on how many times you rearm it.
