If you are getting some trouble with high CPU temps you can always delid the chip. Yea I know it's kind of risky and voids your warranty but with tools like the Rokkit delid kit, it has never been simpler really.

I've been planning a build for almost 2 years now (this august will make it two years) and I've been mostly saving up the first year since I'm still in school and the second year It kept getting delayed because for the past year my family has considered moving states and I've decided to just wait until we move to build it but the move kept getting delayed almost a year now. And over those 17 months i have since changed my build quite frequently from Devil's canyon to skylake then kabylake and now Ryzen. But I will actually be building my PC this month since I'm moving in 2 weeks (lol i know i say it a lot) but this time It's already been confirmed.

Corsair hasn't got ****, compared to noctua. Yes Noctua colors are not appealing to everyone, but they perform amazingly.

Performance > aesthetics ,at least for me.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Can't Decide: i7 7700k or Ryzen 1700"

  • 1 point

Yea, I'm in the same boat. I want to go with Ryzen for the long-term reasons as well. But all I really do is game while having things such as spotify, discord, and skype open. The 7700k is the better performer when gaming but I'll wait a couple of more months to see if everything has been smoothed out as well as to purchase a 1080ti for my upcoming build.
