Looks good! Question, are the SATA data connectors on your hot-swap controller not both vertical? I just got this case and am building in it as well, and both the connectors for me stick straight up, so it was impossible to use an L shaped connector there.

I always go to the manufacturer's website and check out the manual. But for new guys getting into PC building, being able to easily figure that out would be helpful. It's not that important for me, but I figure the noobies would benefit from it.
This isn't my rig, I just built it for a customer. Honestly unless you do a custom loop, you are just as well off in my opinion buying a high quality Air cooler. I had a Contac 12(?) From Thermaltake on my Ryzen rig, and an H55 from Corsair. Same temps, and at the time a $30 price difference. Air cooling is the way to go if you aren't doing a custom loop in my opinion.
I'm more of an AMD guy myself. I know the i3-8350 is only around $170...but I'd rather buy a Ryzen 5 2600 for that price.
Just a heads up, if you go to a motherboard manufacturer webpage and look at the page for a board or it's manual you can see how many headers it has. That way you're not waiting on a reply on here. Good luck.
I built the machine and gave it to the customer within a few hours, but if my memory is correct it only has one chassis fan connector. You'd definitely want a fan controller for this board.
This is the one I personally have, the NZXT Grid+ v2, and I can vouch for it. Control the fans via NZXT CAM software. But, in a pinch I'd say this one or this one would work out great.
It comes with a cooler, a stock air one.
Just one system fan header.

It's surprising. Still nothing compared to having a good GPU, but if someone was in a pinch it'd be fine for low res gaming. I wanted to actually do some benchmarks on it, but from the moment the parts came in, I had it built, with Windows, and at the customer's home within 3 hours.
This rig wasn't meant for gaming, so it's perfectly fine. The most gaming it may ever see is Minecraft and Candy Crush.
I'd never build a gaming rig for someone with only an APU unless they absolutely knew and understood what they were getting.
Yea, I have it in a FreeNAS box and it never breaks a sweat feeding files to about 14 different machines 24/7 at work. Good little chip.
Thanks, I did what I could with it. The case isn't that bad, it definitely isn't a go-to option of my own, but for their budget I took a shot with it.

Okay, your statement is correct. However there are no on-board graphics with that CPU so I would also have needed a GPU. Using the 2200g, I save money from a GPU and PSU stand point. There is a reason I picked that CPU.

Boss(es actually) won't be in till Tuesday, but they're excited for it. I'm sure they're going to like ditching small flash drives and having actual backups of data.
FreeNAS install went perfect. I'm getting somewhat slow transfer speeds (gigabit network, so not sure why I'm only able to push about 10mbps) but it works perfect other than that.
I'm not sure I'd recommend this CPU for anything other than it's price point. VMs would want to have more cores or at least threads. I'd go for at least the 2400g for the extra threads if you're gonna run more than one VM. For us, all we needed was an SMB share for about 15 computers, so this CPU should be fine.
Thanks! Seems okay, I've literally just booted and installed FreeNAS though. Had enough fan headers for me, wasn't DOA, so all in all I liked it. I can't speak on overclocking or anything cause I won't be using it for that.

For the price they're great. Front air intake isn't great like a mesh panel but it isn't bad at all. This is the third build I've done in this case.

It's in the part list under custom parts. Works pretty well but now I have the H55 installed in push/pull.
How hot does the 1800x run? I have the H55 in push/pull on an old overclocked FX-6300 and get good temps with it, that's why I assumed it would be okay for the 1800x at stock or mild overclock.
Any suggestions then? Even for stock speeds?
Unfortunately this isn't my build. I made this for a co-worker. I have no idea how the GPU fans have been, bud. Sorry!
While testing the build I didn't notice the fans though.

I've used both configurations, and find little to no difference in CPU temps between the two. I do suggest a push/pull configuration if you're using it as exhaust, to help really cool the fins of the radiator. I use this radiator screw set to mount a second static-pressure fan to my H55.

Thank you! As far as the fans, easily. There are mounts for two up top. Wouldn't be pointless; odds are you'd just have 3 exhaust and 2 intake creating negative air pressure, so might get some dust build up around the case cracks and edges.
Most LED strips will connect with a 4-pronged connector, like this one on the newer ASUS motherboards, or will connect to a 'power source' which will then connect to a molex or SATA connector. If you look at my build, Fireball, you can see my RGB strip's IR Receiver/power supply just underneath the 24pin connector on the motherboard.
If you're going to need more fan headers, consider getting a good fan controller like the Grid+V2. I use it in my system, and it helps a lot being able to keep the fans from just going 100% all the time. My motherboard has just one fan header besides the CPU fan header, and I used a Y splitter for a while. This was great, but my fans ran at full load all the time, which meant more noise and more dust.

Your airflow looks good to me! That's the same fan setup I used in the build I did with the 240. You ever consider LED strips instead of the fans? I feel like they look better, but that's just my opinion!

Are you certain the card is fully plugged in? The machine should still boot even with the addition if a GPU. Is there a chance the GPU is bad? Do you have a second machine to test it in?

Those color-coded channels are for dual-channel memory. You get a slight performance increase, but nothing to really worry about.
