awesome first time build. i cant dispute any of your part choices for the price you got them at, but please PLEASE get rid of that stock cooler asap. I would also consider an upgrade to skylake or zen, as those newer platforms have a ton to offer when you can afford an upgrade. an ssd makes sense, but you shouldnt need another 8 gb of ram for gaming.

youre right, i was just outlining an upgrade path for him to follow.i am actually a fan of the fx 8350, but its a little too late in its life cycle for me to consider it for a build instead of skylake.

great first time build, logical part choices for the most part. i wouldve considered skylake as it is around the same price but far more futureproof. look into that for your next upgrade. other than that, great part choices!

great build, that 960 choice is a little unorthodox but hey u do u man. love the enthoo pro its a great enclosure. your next upgrade should be a better gpu for sure, 2gb is going to be obsolete super fast in the gaming world. after that, consider a 6700k or even amd zen considering youll need a new mobo to consider overclocking and sli

nice build, but amd's am3 platform is outdated. consider an upgrade to skylake or the upcoming amd zen as soon as possible.also, for aesthetics i would consider a case upgrade and red/black sleeved extensions

the cpyu is fine as is, try and have the gpu tubing go under the gpu to the radiator. If you want some better management of tubing you could put the h100i gt at the front and put the fans at the top.

yeah ideally a psu runs most efficient at 50% usage. in your description you mentioned a RAM upgrade, but 16 gb is overkill for gaming so dont bother with that. I would suggest a corsair or evga 650 watt unit for ur next psu

great build, but this am3+ platform is going to be obsolete very quickly so i would suggest an upgrade to zen or kabylake as soon as they come out. consisder modding the windforce logo to glow red, there are how-tos on youtube. otherwise awesoem build! +1

damn what a beast of a first build. try and route more cables behind the case, and for a cleaner look if you take a hair dryer to the PSU sticker it'll come right off

Dont consider the 9xxx, they are overclocked 8xxx cpus for more money. The new Zen processors will come out late this year but will use the AM4 socket.

perhaps CPU power is important to him for other stuff, in that case he has a z170 chip set, unlocked CPU, and AIO cooler so he could get an amazing overclock. Also, if he decides to upgrade his system this build gives him a great upgrade path as all he has to do is throw in something like a 970 to max most games.

why 2 390s? limits your expandability and in that small of a case they are probably air-choked and thermal throttling. Would've been better off getting a fury x or a 980 ti, but +1 for looking awesome i guess
