Comment reply on Hen_Ree's Completed Build: Henry's New Gaming PC

Hello,

The motherboard is a bit up and down, it looks amazing (if that matters to you) and worked flawlessly for about 6 months but recently I have been having some memory_management issues recently but that could be down to the memory not the motherboard, haven't much time recently to look in to it more closely.

To get over the h100i compatibility I Bought a USB 3 to 2 adapter on eBay which meant that I lost the USB 3 on the front of the case but I have noticed not having them but it's up to you.

The monitor is insane 144hz is glorious and would highly recommend it. Have had the monitor for about 1 year and a half and has been working flawlessly.

Hope this helped!

they both look equally as good imo the node has slightly simpler styling than the silverstone. I have been reading that my GPU temps could be slightly lower in the node as I can put the 2 fans in the GPU section. Even so I will only be using a 60hz TV for at a few months with shouldn't stress the gtx 980 ti that much. Still deciding haha

Hey this is such a cool build and funnily enough every similar to what I want to do trying to decide a case though would you recommend this over the Rvz02? Also a look over my build would super helpful for me.

Hello,

Cool build I was thinking of putting my EVGA gtx 980 ti FTW (slightly more factory overclocked version of yours) in this case, how are you temps? Trying to decide whether it would be a good idea or not.

What was your building experience like?

wow, that's where I got the idea from haha, seems like a good idea but I won't be able to use my GTX 980 ti it wouldn't fit next to the radiator.

Will do haha, I don't know if I forgot to add it to the parts list but I was going to get a beefy noctua fan to replace the stock one. Wanted to downsize my build as I want my pc to take to uni as there much easier to carry haha. Or I was looking at maybe getting the node 202 and sort of ghetto mount an AIO into it like I have seen some others do on this site but I am not sure. Thanks for your help.

Hello,

Based on your experience you probably wouldn't recommend this motherboard in this case? As I was going to downsize my current atx build into this case. This was my idea: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/Hen_Ree/saved/79tXsY

yeah, they do reduce temps a little but one of my aims as the pc is on the desk next to me is silence and those extra 2 fans would add more noise.

I am not no it it just 2 sp120s pushing, looking at my temps I don't see the need, it is not overclocked and mid 20s idle and high 50s load is great especially when I the fans are in quiet mode in corsair link. I am also super happy that I went with the 980 ti instead of 970, it crushes everything I play, if you start gaming I think you will be happy you did too. Also, I really like your setup, my expensive pc is sitting on a 10 year old desk with the draws falling apart LOL

Yeah, I would check which RAM slots the manual says are optimum for quad channel and use those,

Other that that I really like your build!

I believe your ram isn't in the optimum slots, as you have x99 you want to run quad channel which means 2 slots in each memory bank, you need to check the motherboard manual to check which slots are most optimum.

Is there any reason why your gpu isn't in the top slot, the fastest slot on your motherboard (usually the top one) should house your GPU, the pcie ssd will still work at the same speed if put in the second or third slot on the board.

Other than that Great Build :)

Hey,

I was looking at doing the same build and downsizing my unnecessary atx build into this case. I also have the 6700k and wondered what your temps were idle and load for the CPU (with the NF-A9 fan) and the GPu seeing as I also have an after market cooler like yourself.

Also, what are you temps for you gpu like?
