I think he addresses this with "These parts were purchased far below their custom prices but I put a reasonable "median" between what I paid and their new prices. I believe these exact parts new run around $700 together not including shipping." But I'm not sure exactly what he meant.

Put it on the other side in push? You don't want messy airflow.

Why? For the price, AMD cpu is superior and performs well. Maybe if he wants to upgrade later to somthing more high end then yeah Intel but not ASAP.

True for win7 but With win8/8.1 that no longer applies, you can upgrade to a new pc (even mobo) and keep same os. :)

The hdd cannot be submerged because the rotation of the disks and movement of the reading arm is fine tuned to low air resistance, add a thick oil and you don't have a good time

the main "problem" with fans is they go slower but the increased thermal conductivity to air compensates so it's no problem just looks odd.

Yeah, its a relic, old roll top for paper accounting and was meant to be temperately in my room (hence the boxes) It's hard to let go but i will have to if I want any space for actual storage (draws are small).

that's what i was getting running aida64 extreme. Is there some better way to check? I'm kinda new to benchmarks. I used to judge it based on how pretty the games look but its not exactly accurate.
