Currently the main CAD/CAM software we use is Autodesk's Fusion 360. To my understanding it does not support GPU accelerated rendering at this time. In the future it may be an option and at that point we will consider dedicated GPUs.

The CAD/CAM we use runs great on a 2013 macbook air and the new systems are much better. We aren't modeling a catepillar bulldozer with thousands and thousands of parts.
