Don't bother trying to make sense of what apple says or the reasons they price things so high.

Lol I am leaving my job today...going to start streaming over the summer instead.

I hope you dont have to work at one of those kinds of stores that charges 100$ just to install ram.

500gb is fine starting out, but yes I would generally agree.

I started out with a 500gb 860 evo a few months ago and only now am I running out of storage. Needing to upgrade will be inevitable, but for now he should be fine.

I am also considering streaming, and I will be starting to stream heavily once summer hits.

I have little experience with streaming but other people have made it very clear to me that community and interaction is a massive part of being a successful streamer. It's not just about the gameplay. it's about your personality and the things you do or ways you act that make your stream unique.

If you aren't going to interact you shouldn't be streaming. If you do not many people are going to stay and watch you as opposed to simply watching a gameplay on say youtube.

My grandma used to live next to one of the major UP lines going through plattesmouth NE. I loved going there....the tracks were far enough away the noise wasn't bothersome but they were close enough to bike to.....in the evenings there would be a train every 10 mins at most. We saw everything on that line, mostly coal but also mixed freights, rail maintenance, and even a few airplanes.

I have also been to the monument at the NE border with a big boy and a centennial.

I used to be really interested but not so much anymore. Still got hyped about 4014 though.

The S27 line mainly runs off DP, DP 1.2 I believe. My S2716dg is connected through DP to my computer, through which I am taking advantage of everything it offers. There seems to be little structural difference between the G and the GF models, at least in the IO.

I manually OC'd my 2700x to 4.3 ghz....on the stock cooler.

Didn't keep it that way of course, it seems the built in software is the way to go.

I looked back at the list again and I realized there is a freesync version for like 100$ cheaper. Freesync was supposed to be an AMD only gig but that might have changed recently. Might want to look at that as well. I believe its called the S2716DGF

I would recommend the s2716dg by Dell. It has G-Sync, 1440p, 1Ms response time, and a 144hz refresh rate. this is the 27 inch variant, though there is a 24 inch version with refresh rates OC'able to 165hz.

It is a TN panel, but it's supposedly one of the best out there. I have it sitting next to an IPS panel and I can't really tell the difference. That is just me, though. Be sure to check reviews.

Well thats a wall of text.

Bought my 1080 Gaming X lightly used (guy bought it w/o realizing it wouldn't fit in his case, couldn't return because it wasn't broke) for 440$ back when the same card cost around 1000$ (mining craze)

Best build-related choice I have made.

I also bought my Proteus Spectrum certified refurbished. Also worth it.

no need for an /s. There seems to be a common trend of choosing people who have no prior political experience...Not an opinion, its literal fact.

I think this is because trust for politicians are running especially low right now.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Opposition You Respect"

I don't really respect many politicians..I used to be hardcore conservative but the polarizing nature of todays politics and the ulterior motives+sensationalizing from each party has pushed me away from politics in the united states in general.

My Ukrainian immigrant friend has gotten me interested in their politics though, and apparently the next president of ukraine might very well be a comedian with no prior political experience.

I do not use photoshop or premiere,so I wouldn't know about that. If it means anything, I use autodesk inventor (which is a CAD program using solid models) and it rarely goes above 30% usage even when dealing with large models.

I play men of war assault squad 2 (which is an RTS) and with about 100 rendered AI units on each team+ a few vehicles the usage hovers around 80% for it in task manager. In UEBS I can render 10000 AI units fighting each other and the CPU usage is a round 60% for the game process in task manager. IMO with those types of scenarios your GPU+RAM will be the limiting factor. In MOW I was getting 60 frames most of the time, but in UEBS my MSI 1080 Gaming X was brought to its knees, struggling to stay above 30.

I just threw some quick tests together, so the above results are relative. In the backround I had discord, steam, and chrome (with facebook and youtube (which was playing music) and some other random tabs open. All games tested were played on a 1440p monitor at max settings, and my setup also has a secondary 1080p monitor for what it's worth. At no point did overall CPU usage go above 90%, hovering between 50 and 85% utilization. The CPU is not OC'd, and the stock cooler is still being used.

Temps are pretty high up there, as its resting around 80c max load with the stock cooler. This could quite possibly be explained by XFR though.

I have the 2700x and I have no regrets. Does just about anything I throw at it for like 200 less than the I9s. The stock cooler works excellent too, still using it after 4 months with no problems. (and its RGB!)

Upgradeability is a big boon as well.

Have you considered the 2700x? if you have the money by all means for for the I9s but I know from personal experience that the 2700x isn't exactly inept when it comes to multitasking.

Not trying to fanboy of course. Again, if you can afford it, go for the top-tier stuff.

I purchased my MSI 1080 gaming X off of a guy on r/hardwareswap who apparently bought it for a case that wouldn't fit it. Did some research on him, turned out he had 28 confirmed trades and had previously posted on another subreddit about said case and how to make the card fit. He sold it to me for 440$ during the height of the mining craze when the same card was going for 1000+. Came in the original package, works hard and well for the 6 month's I have had it.

Will post pics of the entire setup once I get a mic+webcam and and actually get around to writing a completed build post.

It will be an interesting one, because my PC is actually under a loft bed and is on a desk I made to look like it so that it basically looks like the desk and bed are one piece.
