Idling is about 40 Degree Celsius, and Max Temp under load is around 75 Degree Celsius.
why not a NvME PCIE M.2 SSD, sinceyour already splurged?
nice build by the way.
I am quite certain there is not enough space
Yup. Very straight forward!
Nope. I am using the cooler master vertical GPU mounting kit that comes with riser cable.
apparently very few like those rams
Nope. I am not using any washers.
There u go.
the fan controller has six 3-pin ports for you to plug in your fans.
In order to control your fan using NZXT CAM software, you must run a micro USB cable from the fan controller, to the your motherboard's usb 2.0 header. The cable comes in the package.
Hi there. I used the the screws that came with the X72 and have no issues with the filter or top panel.
6 fans can be plugged into the Grid+ , without using splitter
Do share your build with me when it is completed =)
I did not do any overclocking.
At stock, here are the temps
Idling: 30 to 35 degree Celsius
15% to 30% load : 40 to 45 degree Celsius
40% to 60% load: 50 to 60 degree Celsius
70% to 90+% load: 70 to 80 degree Celsius
You results may varies according to your ambient temps. I am living in a tropical country.
My Arous Xtreme is in fact getting very good temps compared to 9900K.
The bottom intake fans are providing additional cooling to the GPU
nope. only rgb controller.
You will need to purchase a grid fan controller separately.
You are right. But, this may not be the best configuration. I am doing so because the leds on the AER fans are only on a single side.
What's the thickness of the radiator? I can help you measure the clearance at the back of the case when I get home tomorrow from X'Mas Celebration.
Anyway, I doubt you have enough clearance for push pull.
I am using the cooler master one. I bought the cablemod one initially, but there was not enough clearance to mount a bottom fan.
Yes, temps were better than expected. Idle below 40 degree Celsius. Hence fans are not spinning.
Have not game on it yet .... still on my 6700K + 980Ti meanwhile.
Hovering between 27 to 30 degree Celsius when idle. I live in a tropical country (Singapore) by the way.
I did some overclocking and manage to get 5fps. Loving it so far!
Yes. It's hard to justify that kind of price. I guess the pricing will dip real soon.
Exactly! was laughing away!
LOL. What a question.
To run 3 tasks concurrently:
First one for gaming, second one for streaming shows, the third one for monitoring stats (CPU, GPU, RAM, etc) + steam friend list
Thank you for the compliments for both the build and my homeland!
1070 will fit just fine. Gaming wise GTX1070's performance will be about the same as 980ti at 1080p, but it will scale better at higher resolution due to higher/faster vram.
Rendering wise I am not sure.
However, wait awhile more for custom cards which are going to have better performance and priced more competitively. Don't get the founders edition. I would of cos recommend the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming series.
I would suggest you get a 512GB m.2 PCI-E x4 SSD (samsung pro 950) since it is theoretically faster than the 256GB version.
However, aesthetically, it may not be that good looking if the SSD mounting on top of the PSU shroud is empty.
Custom sleeved cables:
1 x 24pin ATX
2 x 8pin PCI-E
1 x 8pin CPU
The rest of the SATA and Molex cables can be hidden if you do your cable management properly. Hence I suggest using the original modular cables that came with the PSU.
The URL above is for Seasonic PSU. The seller offers custom cables for other brands too. You will need to be able to communicate in Chinese in order to let the seller know your requirements and to place the order.
Sorry man, I couldn't recall the exact measurement. Based on estimation, the CPU 2x4 pin cable should be around 50 to 60cm. The rest around 35 to 45cm.
I bought them from taobao.com , which is the chinese version of aliexpress.
I did noticed that the temps of my CPU were a few degrees higher when I had the SSD inserted in the M.2 slot near the CPU.
Hence, I re-mounted it near the GPU.
I remember reading some articles (specific to my mobo) that it is better to use the M.2 slot near the GPU, if the user ain't running dual GPU.
I didn't really make a comparison on the temperature of my GPU with/without the 950 Pro inserted near there.
My pleasure. Please go ahead.
You may want to consider the Corsair Spec Alpha case if you a geting the Gigabyte Gaming 7 Mobo. I think they blend perfectly.
That was my former GPU. It's an Asus GeForce GTX 970 Turbo OC .
Thank you. I am from Singapore. Those stands were bought off a local website. They cost only like $7 USD each.
Excellent choices for the components. The colors blended well and the performance ought to be monstrous.
It's still around. Cant bare to sell it off. It has served me well and IMO, the rig looks better with the Asus 970 OC Turbo than my current 980Ti
Thank you! You can upgrade your components gradually too!
Thank you! I am very satisfied with the end results of the upgrade too!
Would have bought the predator x34 monitor, if I had more budget. Nevertheless, I guess the current setup is good enough to last me awhile.
It's the NZXT Hue+ LED controller
Thank you. Yeah, red color catches one's attention easily.
There's still a long way before 2016 is over. I am sure the geniuses here will be able to come out with much better build than mine.
