Hey Buddy, did you game with the 480s in Crossfire? How were the results? I'm thinking about picking up another one (used) to buy me another year using a 1440p monitor.
Hey buddy, I'm in a similar situation with my home setup. Did you game with the 480s in Crossfire? How did they work on higher resolutions? The Radeon 7 is attractive, but the price tag is not. I was going to pick up another 480 (used) to game on a 1440p. Let me know if you think it would help my buy time.
Also, I'm running 16TB directly with the PC (2700x) and I use a 4TB NAS to run my favorite titles at lower power consumption.
I didn't have any AAA games at the time, was using older titles. Right now I've been playing Rocket League non-stop. I get well over 120fps at 1440 because obviously it's not demanding. My next move is a Vega 64.
Yes, me again! lol.. I was hoping to get $50 for it.. I used the card for a few months on a 1080 screen before I upgraded to the RX 480 on a 1440p.. It is a decent performer for 1080 res
Are you looking to actually build something? I have a complete Dell desktop i5, 8GB RAM, 1GB AMD GPU. It was an office PC that was lightly used. I cleaned it up and it has been sitting in my closet.
I'm going to upgrade to the 8350 after the Zen release. My 6300 is OC'd to 4.4GHz and it works very well with the RX480. Doom runs on average 85+FPS on Ultra 1080 settings. What games/apps you use?
Manirelli, how accurate is the wattage calculator on this site when you put together a build? I upgraded to the FX-8350 and added another RX 480 and it's saying 556W recommended. I have a 650W, do you think I should still bump it up another 100W ?
Another RX 480.. but probably relative to if I plan on diving into >1080.. I saved my benchmarks so I can compare after the CPU upgrade, to see how much it was bottlenecking
I got the 6300 knowing I can get the 83xx later and wanted to OC both, hence the Kraken. I wanted a solid SSD with decent space. I also did this build with the aim of selling it locally. I don't think the fans are loud, overall pretty quiet machine.
I originally paired my OC'd 6300 with a GTX 750 that was given to me. The card held up pretty well. I picked up an XFX 480 at its launch and now I'm really happy!
