I Started in the computer business in 1982 as a partner in ComputerLand franchise in Central Florida. Sold the first IBM PC's back in the day that had 256K ram, 8086 processor and dual 5.25" floppy disks with a green screen, (non graphics monitor) for $3,000. No networking, no Internet, no fun..... We have come a long way since then and the custom builds on this site are very innovative fun to see. My first build was in 2011, an HTPC running Windows Media Center on Win 7 home to connect to my home server where I store all movies, music and family pictures. A modest build running a Core i3, 120 gig SSD for OS and ASRock H81 motherboard, all connected in the family room to a Denon receiver and Vizio 4K 60" TV. I've now got the itch to build an X99 system for my office computer as my HP Pavilion laptop is now 7 years old, with an Intel Core i7-720 at 1.6 GHz. Long over due...
