Subjectively speaking, it's pretty quiet. I can't hear it (I don't even think they spin) below a certain threshold. After that, it is not too bad. At worst, it's comparable to a light buzz. I can't speak to the issues you are describing. Whereas I have not experienced those issues, I could have just gotten some lucky examples.

I would probably take the Zotac AMP! Extreme over the 1080 OCG. I just got it for unity with my motherboard. If you have no such brand loyalty, go with the Zotac. Maybe even splurge on a cheaper 1080ti instead of a really expensive 1080. Depends on your needs.

My favorite black and white motherboard, the best 1080ti, arguably the best water cooler for that size (QC for X62s is a bit sketchy). Solid all around. Out of interest, given that you spent 4k, why not an m.2? Doesn't need to be a 2TB 960 Pro ($1300), but wouldnt these have been faster than your current SSDs?

Bery similar to my build, actually. It looks very good, but seems dark across the bottom. Maybe add an LED strip down there that's AURA compatible? Maybe even a custom GPU Backplate from V1Tech. Those aren't RGB, however, so that would only work if you typically stick with one color.

I'm not necessarily saying that. I would say you could either get a case with some nice LEDs (again, the 570X and the 805 Infinity both have a lot of RGB lighting), would allow you to keep the black theme, but still have a substantial third color. Plus, you could go with a black/white/color build, where the color is RGB. This makes it less monotonous, and isn't too bad on the eyes either.

You would go MSI Gaming Titanium/G.Skill Black and White RAM 3200/Zotac 1080/etc.

TBH I got an M.2.. Didn't think it would be as useful as it is. For instance, most of the time, booting takes less than 20 seconds. Games launch instantly. I went from some crappy laptop SSD though to the 960 EVO, so I missed a lot of the comparisons in between. Not sure.

What annoys me is that I looked at the benchmarks. For instance, i play GTA V a lot. One 1080 gets about 54-56 FPS at 4k resolution. Of course, when paying that much already, I would expect 60. Unmovable 60. The Titan X is able to get mostly 60, the 1080ti is too, but the former is $1200 and the latter was not our yet. So I got 2x 1080s. "But you could have gotten 2x 1070s and would have saved $400!" True, but then performance in games with poorly optimized SLI would not do as well. In summary, no 1080ti makes me sad.

It's good, but there are a few changes I'd make. I will try to suggest one set of changes that keeps the net cost around the same, and one that costs more, but with better performance.

  1. I would choose a secondary color. All I see is Black on Black on Black, and I think it would be better if you chose a blue/orange/etc. to sort of make it less dark.
  2. I personally don't like that case, though many do. For that price area, I would go the IN WIN 805 Infinity, or maybe even the Corsair 570X Tempered Glass, or even certain H440s if you want a specific color scheme. These are not the only options, but I think they are the best.
  3. That RAM is a total waste, especially when this build has such little silver. Assuming you dont want to spend $600 on the blackout edition, I would say go with either the G.Skill 3200 Hz Black and White ram, or splurge on the RGB stuff. I think 3200 Hz is the sweet spot in terms of price.
  4. That SSD is a let down, compared to how expensive this build otherwise is. Grab an M.2, maybe a 960 Evo. 500 GB, as I think 250 will fill up fast. I'm assuming this is a gaming PC only.
  5. Make sure the GPU you are getting has the new faster memory. GDDR5X or something like that.

If you want to spend more...

  1. Still go with the secondary color, and probs one of those case options
  2. Get a 1080 ti. Those from Zotac are insane looking, though ASUS is represented well there too.
  3. Get a 960 Evo 500GB or a 960 PRO 512GB, depending on how much $ you want to spend.
  4. Still change the RAM. Perhaps RGB G.Skill here.

It works at the same time, but they use different softwares. You can control both, but I would NOT recommend any NZXT products due to terrible customer service and poor QC. Get an H115i, H110i v2, or even a Swifttech Model.

I mean, I think it is the best 27 inch 4k monitor on the market, especially with G-Sync. You need to decide if you want G-Sync. If you do, then you only really have two options: The ROG and the PREDATOR. Check those out. If you do not, then you have a ton of options and a cheaper screen will do. It's up to you. That being said, I don't know how much I want to get into recording...

There's little to no blacklight bleed, from what I can tell.

I am going to be frank here. I am not good with any of that stuff. It looks good. I chose this for the small bezel and the fact that I could get a solid discount on it. Monitors are too expensive atm tbh. I would say any 4k Gaming Monitor With G-Sync would be ideal, which narrowed my choices down to just thw ASUS ROG and the ACER PREDATOR.

tbh, and I am sorry to let everyone down, I don't think so. If it was possible to buy a prebuilt computer from Dell or something that had the same specs, I would probably have gone with that. Building it was a terrible, frustrating experience. Although I know there are some prebuilt ones that do such a thing, most are red which doesn't match anything I have. Oh well...
