Comment reply on SleathX1's Completed Build: Clean, Budget, 2nd Gen Ryzen

Yes! I haven't stress tested it yet, but under gaming (Pubg, Battlefield, and Rocket League) it has not reached over 52C. And Ryzen Master reports 1.228v, not 1.250. That is too high.

Thank you!

It Turbos up to 3.9. I haven't actually changed any settings. HWMonitor reports 1.250v on the CPU VDD, and Package is 73.9W. Of course HWMonitor isn't entirely accurate but that's what the stock settings are. I haven't tried overclocking quite yet.

I will definitely be buying a new GPU. I want at least GTX 1080 performance because I will be getting a 144Hz monitor.

And I do not have good enough lighting inside to get any more angles... this is the best I can do for now. I will have a new post with outdoor lighting in a few months time.

How do you like that motherboard? This is a solid productivity PC!

This is one of the most subtly badass rigs I've seen in a long time :)

Is that blue LED coming from the motherboard or the GPU? Slightly messes up the green theme, that's why I'm asking.

amazing photography :)

but I'm confused why you went with that ugly blower cooler instead of an ACX or Windforce cooler. They really don't add the hot air to the surroundings and blow it around inside the case, as far as my experience goes. other than that, this is a really good build and great pics!

Comment reply on Carlos.sulos3's Completed Build: Man-Bot

  • 2 points

ah

But yeah, you will probably be able to hit 5.0 GHz if you give it enough voltage, assuming your cooler works really well and your G45 Gaming model will be able to handle it. At those clocks, you won't notice any bottleneck except in games like 64p BF4 and DayZ - sadly enough those are the two uses for my rig - LOL.

EDIT: even then, it will only be slight, nothing major at all

Comment reply on Carlos.sulos3's Completed Build: Man-Bot

  • 2 points

Yes your Athlon does slightly bottleneck your 280X in heavily multiplayer games like on a 64 player BF4 server. BUT if you overclock it to about 4.6 or even higher - since you have that huge cooler and a pretty stable motherboard - you will easily eliminate any problems that you would run into.

ya the standard Seagate only gets 5.9. I was at the same point, but when I got my 120GB 840 EVO, my Index rating jumped up to a 7.6 EDIT: sorry a 7.3

Comment reply on Yankeetown1357's Completed Build: 14 year olds first build! (Budget)

  • 1 point

yeah the 750K would definitely bottleneck anything in multiplayer if he got a 770 or 780, but I think a 760 would be the best choice if you can afford it.

The athlon 750k and 760k are only about 60 watts max tdp. It says so on the box.

Newegg, along with sites like CPUWorld and CPU Boss, are all wrong and I have no clue why.

nice upgrade history thats some smart choices.

I used that wireless card in my parent's build and it was terrible - the driver software is what i think caused the problems, but still. It would drop in and out and I would have to restart the entire computer in order for it to work again. To top it all off, the router is about 15 feet from the computer - no walls or anything like that.

Anyway, nice v3.0 rig!
