30 to 40 Celsius when running idle. Up to 50 Celsius when gaming or intensive CPU use. I've seen up to 70 or so when I'm overclocking but I don't overclock often.
This will obvious change depending on room temperatures.
Hey Ken, I see you asked this almost 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure if you saw my response, but here you go again:
I used AF (airflow) fans to increase the amount of air passing through the tower. The SP (static pressure) is for heat sinks or water coolers. Now, if you place your water cooler radiator in the front, which is optional for the S340 Elite, then maybe SP would be the better fit.
As stated in the post and a response from another user, I purchased my video card back in February, well before the release of the RX 580. Had I known it released in April, I would have waited and bought it then. Nonetheless, I'm waiting for Vega. :)
It does really well. It's not roaring like a stock fan and I believe the max rpm I've seen is near 1500 RPMs? The system will kick it in high gear when it detects high temps, then slow back down. Kind of what the XFX GPU does. The fan on the GPU will not spin until you begin generating heat from it.
These are the mounts I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00WS0RCTM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It handles up to 27" and is full-motion. I really like them but I have my desk next to my wife's desk. I'd like to have the monitors closer to each other but moved further back from where I have them. I guess that's where the 27" monitors come in. The distance will work with that size. It also allows you to increase the tension of the joints to handle heavier monitors. The AOC 22" monitors I got are pretty light.
Thanks! I will have to! I don't normally OC, but now that AMD makes it easy to do so, why not?!? If I remember, I was able to get it to 3.75 GHz at 1.38 volts? I'll have to try again soon.
Definitely! I'll try to keep this thing updated as things are added to it.
Uhhhh. I made all my purchases in February. That includes my GPU. This was before the RX 500 series released. Had I known the 500 series released in April I would have obviously waited. In the end, I'm waiting for Vega, if you didn't read.
On the side note, thanks for the +1.
The CPU Cooler that comes with the 1700 looks nice! Too bad they couldn't have it come with the 1700x and 1800x. Oh well. :)
Very nice build for it only being your second. Kudos!
NOW I REALLY WANT TO READ THIS ENTIRE THREAD! LOL Congratulations again to the winners. Thank you, PCPartPicker, MSI, and all other sponsors. Even though I didn't win, it's still cool to even have such an opportunity!
Congrats to the winner!
Grats to the winners! Guess I'm still planning on that big purchase in Q1/Q2....
Lol I did and thanks! Best of luck to you as well!
Lol I think I have you beat. My current rig is:
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor
G.Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1333 Memory
XFX Radeon HD 6850 1GB Video Card
I run Overwatch on low everything and anything I can turn off to increase FPS i do. LMAO!
Thanks for the information! Of course, Ikea! :) Great place for stuff like that. Also, great idea on fixing the fading color!
...What kind of desk is that? Am I seeing that right? You can slide out the shelf and choose what height you want??? O_O
Nice build, btw. :) Pure white color matches very well with the desk and the overall theme!
NZXT has a newer Kraken cooler, the X62, in case you didn't know. :)
It does! It's one of MSI's latest ones that just came out in Oct/Nov. I've been keeping my eye on it since it does the RGB LED lights and all.
Also, yeah. I figured bottlenecking would happen, but I'm likely going to use one of the RX 480s somewhere else if I need to.
Lastly, thanks! I'm happy to hear that someone would want to build a rig off of my configuration. This one here is off a config build similar to this but with one 480. It's also supposed to have a 500 GB SSD but I got it during black Friday, so I removed it from my build to get a better calculation.

Here we go again! Good luck to everyone and Happy Holidays!
Banana. Scale comparison or you love bananas.
OoooO that's a pretty case.
ERMAGERD This is the tower I'm aiming to use for my build! Good luck to everyone and thank you PCPartPicker and NZXT for this opportunity to win an amazing rig!
Small, compact....CARRY ANYWHERE!
Yeah, I agree. I love MSI. Too bad their colors are red/black and tend to stick to it with all their products. Lucky for those that want to use the red/black theme, which is what my other build is basing off of. I would like to make it look nicer, but just having a budget minded PC that isn't 6 years old is more important.
OooOooo Good thinking. I was going for that too. I might have to work a bit on some of the color layouts. I'm going to have to spray paint a few other things too:
Maybe turn the MSI video card purple where the red is....
I have my eyes set on this case now too. I'm aiming for the black/red combo. This white one is pretty nice, but I'm thinking of saving it for my wife and then adding some purple to it somehow....
Didn't win, but still fun! I've been part of the PCDIY since 2001! I only have 2 personal DIY builds in my time but have over 10 different component builds (Over 20+ just putting a PC together) helping friends, family, and for work. Until next time!
Congrats to the winners! Thanks PCPartPicker and ASUS for this contest! We appreciate it a lot! ...especially for those that need to upgrade and are hopeful. :)
I heard in 2. :)
Thanks for giving us these opportunities to win some great products! Can't wait to upgrade or have a new build!
Enough to afford the essentials and more, apparently. That or he lives in a van down by the river with a generator....
Thanks for the update!
16 HRS left! Where will we find out who wins?
Sorry to hear that it's not available in other countries. Maybe PCPartPicker can accommodate a giveaway specifically for you in the future! Good luck to everyone who's entering. Including me! :)
Grats on the win. I'm more than willing to try again if another contest like this comes around. It was great to have a chance to dream about a rig like this.
Post pictures and lots of them!
LMAO! I'm in the same boat!
Can this be done monthly??? :)
It's awesome to see the crazy builds put together but also makes us excited to have a chance to get a dream rig.
True. It's a bit vague. I guess I understood that they include all the parts since a few comments here had said that if a part wasn't available after being chosen, they'd substitute it with something equivalent.
I'm back to my 6 yr old one.
Not only that but they're going to have to sift through all entries. This was an international entry. That means a lot to go through and validate qualified entries. It's going to take some time.
Edit: MSI Facebook pages states "2 Random winners will be announced on PcPartPicker and MSI Social Media 1 day after to the end date".
That's exactly what they're doing. You build your PC up to $2500 and if you're selected as a winner, they are GIVING you the parts. You build your PC with the parts you listed. Did anyone read the T&C?
LOL I take it you added some by accident...
Since I have an account on here, taxes was taken into consideration when I made my build. However, if you don't have an account, it doesn't set the taxes. I can see that below with some builds when I click on the link and the taxes are added based off of my settings. Was taxes considered in the $2500 limit or was it the pricing of the items only? I was wondering that last night as the contest was ending...
I'm an AMD guy. I would have gotten an Mobo for AMD CPU but the one I wanted doesn't have a price listed since it just released.
Yeah. Better safe than sorry, huh? Thanks for the help!
