I started getting into PCs a few years after a friend of mine invited me to play World of Warcraft, I was playing on a laptop at the time, and bought my first Desktop not only hoping to have a better experience, but to also learn more about PCs and to eventually build my own later on.

AMD processors tend to get the job done with general usage, but I find Intel to be superior in every way. The same goes for AMD and Nvidia cards. Ever since an AMD update killed a brand new $200 GPU that was just past it's warranty I've found it difficult to go back to AMD. Plus I never feel like I get what I paid for with AMD anyway.
