I have to admit, I have not considered to look into the 4.0 difference. Thanks for the idea.

That said most of my builds are a waste in the grand scheme of their design and capabilities. Admittedly I am not hyped yet to spend $2300 on a new board and cpu.

Oh no need I am a lame little gamer too. I don’t even go for bragging rights it’s more just for myself like I said old man in a Corvette doing five under the speed limit.

I know, I just like benchmarking and running things a bit hard.

To be honest I have played rocket league and supreme commander forged alliance more than anything. I’m like an old man who buys a corvette then does 5 under the speed limit everywhere he goes.

I am considering this CPU as a possible next step in my computer so please be sure to come back and share the results of your benchmark and stress tests.

I stuck the lightning nodes to the backs of the commanders. I have them for the Corsair CPU and GPU blocks for the custom water loop. I am actually starting the custom loop work tomorrow so it’s all getting moved around back there as I’m placing the pump/res back there too.

I used a Cooler Master and one off brand from Amazon as the off brand was more low profile. I am starting the custom loop work tomorrow but I’ll add a picture of the 24 pin right angle adapters.

Its a bracket from Lian Li made for the XL LIAN LI O11DXL-1X Premium PCI-E x16 3.0 Black Extender Riser Cable 200mm and Cover Bracket for -O11DXL

I had a bit of trouble finding anyone listing it but I did end up finding it on Newegg. No modding was required beyond painting it to match the case.

I have not really done much of anything as far as deciding on which to use as intake vs exhaust. I have been collecting parts to change to a custom loop and may change the direction of the fans for the sake of looks once that is done but its unlikely I will honestly do a tremendous amount of testing even then. Reaching 5.2 on the cpu is something I am very pleased with and though I may be able to reach 5.3 with the right settings I feel like I am already very lucky and don't want to push my luck.

Yes I use a pair of 90° adapters to get a clean look but the XL fits the EATX format so much better than the Standard 011.

Thank you, I actually have 2 commander units, but the AIO can run 3 fans, so this could have been done with just 1 in this format with 3 controls by the AIO and 7 with the commander pro via a Y splitter on one of the ports.

I am planning to do a custom loop with 3 360 rads soon so I wanted more options as to be able to control all I can.

No it’s the bracket from Lian Li designed for the XL. It’s available only in black so I had to paint it to match, which Home Depot came in handy to solve, the inserts in the back wall of the case come in super handy for the analyzer at Home Depot.
