It's been my only option. I've made sure no damage is being done to the board
Thermaltake Water 2.0 Performer
MSI Z87-GD65 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
I don't understand why no one else has caught this yet: PLEASE CHANGE YOUR POWER SUPPLY. Your whole build adds up to 700W and your power supply needs to have 20% wiggle room due to efficiency. You need at least a 875W powersupply that is 80+ certified (80%+ efficient). (700/.80 = 875)
I really hope you end up changing, you might run into some really big problems later.
I like the idea of the hybrid HDD. I really hope that you'll be investing/saving for a GPU soon.
GD65 just has better components and features IMO, the extra $40 was worth it for me.
Ah, I can see why you would go with the Z87 chipset though, they usually have higher quality motherboards overall in the unlocked versions.
If you lived near a microcenter you could've gotten a 4670k for $200
I liked the portability factor of the handle of the Vulcan, but I will look into those cases. Thanks!
For my wants/needs, this build is perfect. That SSD has 800+ read and write speed which is double that of the Samsung pro series I was considering. That's an extra $100 I'm willing to spend
The only thing about 21:9 monitors is the support for them. You might not be able to play some games do their lack of support for that resolution in the settings.
I LOVE THE NAME I LOVE IT al;skdjf;askldf
Didn't read the comments so I don't really know if this has been said but there's NO reason why you should've bought an unlocked processor with a locked motherboard. Do you research before you spend up to $1000 on something.
Hate sponge? This is a great build for the price!
damn my max at 4.4 with a thermaltake water cooler was only 75
Okay, couple of things, I'm not sure if they've already been said but I don't feel like reading. You have a locked CPU, paired with an unlocked motherboard, you wasted money. The ONLY reason why you should've gotten an 800W PSU is if you plan on getting two more of the same GPUs. But from what I see, this is a very poorly planned build.
it's not bad at all....
I don't have any expansions... TIME TO SAVE hahaha
AH! if only i had gods and kings expansion, your mod looks great!
A build with an i7 and 770 for only 1000? op sorry thats pounds, which is like $1500.
Amazing build, I love it, and the cable management is ace. The only thing I would've changed is the 660ti to a 760, the 760 would've been cheaper, but it would've been the 2GB version, so you might have some type of explanation on wanting the 3GB so 5 stars.
256GB isn't going to be near enough for your games
Oh I'm sorry I shouldve looked at previous comments, I didnt see your first explanation.
Yeah man its solid for the price, just make sure that evo will fit in that case. Also I've seen one of those cases irl and the handles are a little flimsy, I'm not sure if you care.. they're plastic but bendable, I guess that's a good thing in the sense that they wont break!
makes it $10 cheaper so you can hit your 800 goal :P I really thought H77 boards were at least $20 cheaper
Don't waste your money on an unlocked motherboard (Z version) if you're not going to get an unlocked CPU.
NICE camera!!!! Good build too :P
Definitely wasted money on the mobo.
The one with the unlocked processor because theirs no point in getting a locked processor if youre going to waste money on an unlocked mobo.
I really like the line up!
It wouldve been better if you went with 2x4GB RAM but I'm sure you've thought about it and want to upgrade to 32 in the future for editing or whatever purposes
I thought that's what it was but I didn't see a picture with the mesh on :P sorry
The 7950 isn't cheaper...
Maybe put the fans on the inside?
No reason why this should get downvoted, great build here
The offset is on auto, should I change that or is that good?
OH gotchya sorry
You should save up for a cheap TB 7200 drive
Went with a cheaper case :/ I looked at silverstone but I really need to keep the cost down. Right now the monitor is just extra and I might not get it.
I WOULD go with a dual Storage computer but my dad isn't going to know how to put things on his HDD to save space on his SSD. He's lazy like that XD
I'll look into the 4570 and the case, thanks!
I've ran some more tests, going with 4.0, 4.1, all the way up to 4.5 with the intentions of getting to 4.8 but I still can't seem to find a good voltage for 4.5 to run on that's completely stable. 4.4 works good with 1.220
oh yeah yeah I just didnt catch your lingual XD
and actually I just recently learned how to clock it to 4.6, turn off OC genie and change the CPU ratio to 46 and change the CPU core voltage to 1.295, I'm about to run Prime95 right now
What makes Asus better?
Magic Genie? I haven't even seen any automatic overclocking options :O
I manually got mine up to about 4.2 but I can't get it much higher before it starts crashing on the startup
I have the same motherboard and I keep getting start up issues while overclocking, does this happen to you? Also, I'm looking to get that case for my next build, how was it to work with?
Really nice build. How is the 100i? Is it worth it?
You got it up to 4.8? nice!
You can get a much better 1TB drive for $65.... Could've gotten an evo for a lot cheaper, you really dont need that cooler. Not enough disk space I can tell you that right now. and put those fans on the inside!!
It's awesome you're getting into this at 13, I wish I knew about places like pcpartpicker when I was 13 XP Just wondering, how's the CPU cooler? I'm debating on either one of the Corsair liquid coolers or the EVO (money reasons)
I already have the msi, its a great board, but I want to try a different one, I think im gonna go with Gigabyte
