I doubt two new titans x in sli could even do 3 4k monitors at max setting, definitely not 60fps if supposedly the new titan is 30-40% faster than a 1080.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "How did you guys get into building computers?"

When I went to go to work with my dad we were going to paint a house in San Fransisco. We went to the attic where the paint was. And as I was looking for the paint, I saw something weird. I picked it up and it said GeForce GTX 260. I figured it was a computer part and then I just put it back where it was. But my curiosity was growing, so after work, I went to go see the computer part again and googled the part. It was then that I found out it was a graphics card used for gaming. And that is when I discovered the whole PC comminity...

Yes you are correct. At first, reviewers believed the 1080 needed more power for higher overclocks. But once they got their hands on the AIB cards with 2x8 and 6+8 pins, they found out that it didn't make a difference. And I wouldn't go with the MSI/Corsair GPU because the copper plate on the EVGA hybrid cools better. Check out Gamers Nexus YouTube channel. They explain it well in their RX 480 mod. Several of my info comes from them, since they are trusted professional reviewers.

Have you considered the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming Waterforce 1080, it's not a hybrid, it cools the VRMs and memory using AIO.

Their is only about a 5 frames per second difference (give or take) between the Founders Edition and the highest end GTX 1080, there are several articles about it online. Some founders Founders Edition even overclock higher than the 2x8 pin cards, just look at JayZTwoCents's recent Zotac Amp! Extreme 1080 review. Custom PCBs, BIOS, and power phases don't make that much of a huge difference compared to the 980 Tis. You should consider thermals instead, and the AIO seems like the better choice in my opinion.
