Update: Lightning deal on a 960GB SSD! Not a great one, but still way faster than a HDD!
Thanks! I'm all the way out on HDD's :) But I'll be upgrading to a 2TB Intel 660p in the near future, and I'll send him one of my old ones. I think he can survive 'til then
Thanks, I'm sure he will. He's a good kid. It's too bad that my nearest Microcenter is 4 hours away though! :)
Thanks! Yeah, I was pretty impressed with the case, I wasn't expecting much for $20
Thanks for the heads up
$375, not a big markup I don't think
To be fair, it's an 8 year old whose father has a PC building problem... :)
Awesome, hope to see some pics when you do!
Well good luck, I hope you end up with an epic desktop!
Growing up, my parents always had a PC in the house, but I don't think I got my own until I was maybe 16 or 17. I remember having Windows: Millennium Edition...shudders
Whoops sorry for the confusion. I meant that the Midweek Madness sales have slowed down. (Not the card :) ) They don't seem to have anywhere near the type of deals that they had Summer and Fall of last year...
Thanks, that Midweek Madness sale was pretty awesome for awhile. It seems to have slowed down now though
Fantastic build! Your pictures really are next level!
Sorry, I do not. I've since sold that cooler as well, so I no longer have access to sir it. Wish I could be of more help.
Awesome! I'm glad to hear it.
Changing to the 25mm fans made a noticeable difference. The deciding factor is gonna be how thick is your GPU. The blower-style MSI that I have is one of the thinner cards that I've seen. I'll try to remember to check how much clearance I have, the next time I open the case up. But I would definitely recommend going with the 25's if you have the room. The case comes with two 15mm fans that work ok, but the cryorig fans are much better at exhausting the heat out of the back of the case. Hope this helped a bit, good luck!
I wouldn't. There doesn't seem to be enough of an improvement in FPS to justify it. I would wait until the next series of cards come out. GTX 11xx, and RX 6xx.
Also, this was my second of three PC builds and I'm still getting the hang of something I believe people call "patience"...and "bargain hunting"... :)
Honestly? I'm not sure. The monitor in the picture doesn't really get used much. I've got a 50" TV at the Fire Station and a projector at the house that I use 99% of the time :)
Yeah, unfortunately, there aren't very many PSU's that will fit into this case (SFX)...Also, this was actually the cheapest Gold rated PSU there was, without dropping down to 450w.
+1 for the awesome console generations showcase! Nice build
Holy crap, that is an amazing build...
What are your cpu temps looking like? I just got this case with an i7-7700 (non oc) and it idles around 40 degrees Celsius. I was wondering if that was on the high side or not. (Cryorig C7 cooler) Great looking build btw.
Thanks for the quick reply! I guess maybe I should have specified that the Syber list I posted was configured as close to my build as possible vs the pre-planned that they start you with?
I really enjoyed building my first PC, which is part of the reason that I began looking to do another (and I really like the console type SFF cases).
***Update: I have the patience of a toddler...I went with this: Raven
Thanks, but I'm really into the console style cases. I thought about this one this one: but I decided against it, due to it not supporting any case fans.
edit: fixed the link
Made some changes that I hope will be better for cooling.
Piece of cake! Maybe took about 10-15 minutes, probably go alot quicker for someone who knows what they're doing
Oh yeah, it looks like we decided on a lot of the same parts...although you seem to much better at finding deals than I am!
Thanks for the insight, the dual/single channel issue is something I don't think I need to deal with yet. I havent ran into any situation where i need to add that extra stick. In any case I plan on get another set of the 2x8gb Hyper Fury x's to max out my RAM at some point:)
And I agree with you on the GPU as well. If and when i decide to upgrade displays (I'm mainly using my 1080p Sony TV right now) I'll probably go ahead and get better GPU at the same time.
Sorry guys, I've been trying to get this finished the last two days...Dang kids and work:)
