Except it's way scarier overclocking your cpu because typically it will cost more than your cpu and the when your gpu crashes it looks a lot worse than the :( something went wrong with your PC screen. All you have to do to overclock your cpu is change 2 values in your mobo bios and stress test it lol (and adjust cooling accordingly)

I built my first about 7 months ago and overclocked my stuff to the max lol (except my gpu because those are harder to overclock IMO)

I really recommend overclocking everything, manually of course, and never trust an auto overclocking tool. I I manually changed the clock speed on my i5-6600k and let it automatically change the voltage only to realize it was running so hot because it set it at 1.52 volts!

Why would you put the 9590 with a gtx 1080, big bottleneck. And December 2016, you should've gotten the 6700k

Okay well the person is gaming and the fx-8350 is about equivalent with the i3-6100 and in 4k. Neither of these processors are adequate for 4k gaming (at least titles that take something to run in 4k not Minecraft or something) so really money is just being wasted on the fx-8350

Well first this is a budget build obviously and if you haven't been under a rock during the kaby lake launch you would notice the g4560 is the best price for performance chip out right now. Also maybe they didn't need a ton of storage and would rather have fast storage, not like 500gb is nothing. Don't hate

You sound really stupid, seriously. Like I get you're trying to sound really smart by showing some technicalities where the 8350 is not a bottleneck but it really is. Seriously just go ask anyone if pairing and 8350 and a 1080 is a good idea and they will give you the phone number for a psychiatrist. No but seriously if they put say an i3-6100 with the gtx 1080 (the i3-6100 is about equal with the fx-8350) you would say it's a bottleneck so I don't understand what you're trying to say especially with your confusing writing style.

Comment reply on pyrodt85's Completed Build: 4K Gaming Rig

That's actually not really true, the CPU does a lot of the work especially at higher resolutions. (Coming from my CS teacher) The GPU processes everything needed and sends it to the CPU and the CPU puts it on the screen in the right spot at the right time etc. So when you put such a fast card with a low level CPU (we're talking equivalent to an i3 or lower) then the GPU slows down and works barely as hard as it would if it had an equally good CPU and sends less information to the CPU at a time and therefore getting lower framerates. Now say they paired the 1080 with a 6/7600k or 6/7700k and you would see a huge framerate increase I don't care what you say. If you saw an i3 or say the pentium G4560 paired with a 1080 in a 4k build you would say it bottlenecks right? Well that's pretty much the case here.

LMAO! It is not 101% better in multi threaded tasks, that is from cinebench and it isn't an actual representation of it in real-world tasks. The i5 is better in gaming which is what the person is doing so it makes sense, especially because single core performance plays a good role in that. Sure in a budget workstation the Ryzen 5 chip would make a lot more sense but in gaming the i5 is the much better choice. Threads don't mean much especially because most games don't take advantage of hyperthreading anyways so then core count and quality of core plays in making the i5 faster. Don't take synthetic benchmarks and say something is better and instead use benchmarks of real-world tasks. Also don't make stuff up like you did saying it is 30% better overall lol. Go look at any gaming benchmark and the i5 comes out on top every time just because you can't handle it. Not to mention Ryzen 5 costs more too so cannot play the "MoRe CoSt EfFeCtIvE" card.

People think it should be featured though and tbh it doesn't look THAT amazing, but it isn't terrible. All I had up was the first picture and asked my friend what he though was in there and he said a 7700k with dual 1080s or 1080tis. The only reason people think it should be featured is because of the parts used and prices of the build, it doesn't look good enough to be featured IMO.
