Hobbies are expensive. It's the curse of life.

What are you into writing?

Are you completely set on that case?

Your part list has a Node 304. Why not go with that case instead of the 202?

EDIT: I'm sure you'll be fine with the velcro, though. I've done it in the past and never had any issues.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Powerline adapters?"

Like others, I also currently use a pair of powerline adapters, but they're just temporary. Mine are from TP-Link, so that could be the reason they're less than awesome. It's not uncommon for mine to overheat and lose connection. Easy fix is to just unplug either one from the wall and plug them back in.

Powerline adapters work, but I see them as a temporary fix, and really not a whole lot more reliable than WiFi. This summer I will be wiring the whole house with Ethernet. Definitely looking forward to it so that I can finally start using my Steam Link! =)

HTML isn't really a programming language. I only say that because there isn't really any logic needed - at least, not in the same sense as there is for a true programming language such as JavaScript, Python, Java, C, C#, etc.

I have fun with HTML and CSS, but I really think the fun starts when you have to use logic. =)

Hey, thanks for the reply!

Nope, haven't purchased anything yet, so you're not too late. Thanks for the advice, I honestly wasn't sure who the "name brand" was on such an item. I wish Logitech still made them.

Okay, maybe it wasn't that long ago, but it feels like forever.

Ohh, I like the look of that one and it has great reviews! I'm not a keyboard connoisseur, so I'm not really sure what to look for. Just personal preference, I guess, but I like backlit keys and FN-key functionalities. Beyond that, I can't say I have good taste. =P

Okay, replace that step with the start button on the taskbar.

It's weird that your Windows key doesn't work, though. Maybe that's why your other method doesn't work? Broken key on your keyboard?

30 Rock is about the making of a TV show called TGS with Tracy Jordan (TGS is short for The Girly Show or something like that). The main character is Liz Lemon, played by Tina Fey. She's the head writer of the show (the real show and the fake one).

Little hard to explain the show, really. Just watch the pilot on Netflix or something.

Try using Snipping Tools, which is built into Windows. Just hit the Windows Key, then type Snipping Tools (Or just a part of the name) and hit Enter. Then go up to the top right of the program and hit the drop down for "New." There's an option there to take a full-screen snip.

Oh, I forgot Pegotico! He's actually been here a couple months longer than me. He's not a lurker, though. He's still active, just like Vegabond. Cool guy, though.

Ha, yeah I'm sure you'll get some experience over time. I've built 3 or 4 PCs myself. I always get the itch to build again, but money is definitely something that gets in the way.

T'was me, Banshebot, Vegabond, Godzlegend, FH100, and a few others. I have a hard time remembering their usernames now, but if I saw them, I'd remember instantly. Alas, there was a group before us as well, but I haven't seen them in a long time. They became less active about the same time we got here. Those were the good 'ol days, hahaha. But then I got a new job that didn't allow me to be here 40 hours per week.

Don't worry too much about the wires. It's pretty obvious which ones go where just based on their shape and size.

Anyway, watch Newegg's Series of How to Build a PC. Paul goes into a lot of detail. They're old but still very relevant.

I definitely wouldn't argue that all molex ends that way. And anyway, Newegg is just the seller. They're not the ones advertising it as this amazing fan. Also, as long as they actually include the advertised adapter, they're keeping their end of the deal. To not include it would be false advertisement. Blame the fan, not the seller.

With an NVMe drive, I don't think you'll see much of a difference with boot times. It's data transfer/copying that you'd see the biggest difference. My new laptop came with one and the difference was amazing.

That extra SSD that you purchase in the future - make it an NVMe (PCIe x4) drive. SATA is simply limiting you at this point.

Amazing build, by the way. Seriously, I'm really jealous. I love your obsession with mounting stuff on the wall!

I also had glasses since 1st grade. Eventually, I tired contacts, but no matter which type/brand I tried, I just couldn't get a pair that were comfortable. I went back to wearing glasses full-time.

Last winter, however, I got Lasik eye surgery. Best $3,200 I've spent. =)

I had a laptop about 10 years ago (maybe longer, actually). It was okay, the only issue was the cheap plastic hinge. Gave out after a couple of years.

I just purchased a Dell XPS 13 and I really love it. The quality of the build is superb! It's not a gaming laptop, so I wouldn't have suggested it, but I probably would have suggested an Inspiron.

$700 isn't much for a gaming laptop. It'll be hard to find something with discrete graphics at that price.

The quality of the video itself is great; your voice is clear and your points make sense. I guess I just don't really see why it's a video. Why not a blog post? The content of the video (without audio) has nothing really to do with the purpose of the video.
