yea true it kinda depends on what type of videos. i mean i use an x4 860k and gtx 750ti and i have no trouble editing basic videos for youtube and even doing some advanced stuff...
nvm i checked minecraft nativly uses multiple cores now
ok yea ill change the gpu i completely forgot about that one!
ok thanks for the info... and yea i will make sure to set it use all 4 cores. Do you know where I could get info on how to do that though because I thought Minecraft can only use up to 2 cores?
Yea that build would be way more than enough to run minecraft well as well as some games with demanding graphics as well. But if you are going with that scrap the cpu cooler since that CPU is locked.
However the pentium you have now should be fine though and an i3-6100 would be great. An i5 is way overkill for just Minecraft though; same with the r9 card, it would be great for high end gaming but is way overkill for minecraft.
You need to get 8GB of RAM and a low end GPU to run Minecraft at optimal settings. A GTX 1060/70 is a bit overkill; you will be find with something like a gtx750ti (or equivalent) even for video editing as long as you aren't doing anything too extreme. The RAM is extremely important and the more the better!
Oh OK I see... I guess I got confused because I was comparing them on cpuboss and it said the 4400 was locked and the 4500 was unlocked
OK yea good point ill definitely go 4400 but off topic I thought the 4500 was unlocked by default anyway and you don't need to bclk overclock?
OK cool I guess I'll go with a pentium and something like a 750ti. Just curious though, if I got a g4500 and OCed the crap out of it would that make a difference or would the g4400 + GPU still be better? Also would a g4500 + GPU be a lot or just a bit better than a g4400 + GPU? I'm on a tight budget but if a bit more could make a big difference it would be worthwile.
Thanks for the help!
Nah lol I opened it up its pretty bricked the GPU is fried and it was already having huge problems with other stuff like booting for about a year before this (literally could take 5 attempts to turn on!) but I did salvage all the working parts and I will use some of them in the replacement.
Yea that looks good!
oh ok dang that sucks D:
i used to live in the uk but not for a while so i don't know anything about there anymore lol
id say fiddle around with the storage by shrinking the ssd and maybe even the hdd and then the price should drop significantly
no i just double checked 1600 dollars is roughly 1200 pounds
here ya go fam!
That costs about 1200 pounds iirc
Looks good, but what are you intending to do with the build? Then we could give some info on if it will do the job.
It looks pretty good but that PSU is way overkill; that build only needs a 300 watt PSU.
THIS NEEDS TO HAPPEN
yes but it is not an ssd
ok i found it, its amazing!!!
o nvm i found it but thats hilarious.
how did u manage to do that and keep the link?
hahahaha thats amazing!!!!!!
Uhh I don't know any reliable brand that sells 1tb SSDs for that cheap!
you could always purchase high end business/server (im not sure exactly what its called) internet as well which would basically be as good/reliable as server hosting companies.
thanks for the feedback, however i want to mention that if you have a good firewall then it is unlikely you will be attacked and there are also other methods of preventing hacks/ddos
on certain boards the answer is still yes, and the g4500 is unlocked by default anyways. i dont recommend trying to oc though especially in this case because the performance increase may not help the server that much
oops i forgot to add it my bad... im still working on it it will be done in a couple days im pretty busy with other stuff atm
You don't need a GPU as there are integrated graphics in the CPU, and Minecraft server processes don't render anything.
The 120 GB is perfectly adequate for a build like this, and you could get away with even less space if you wanted.
OK thanks I will put it back up!
I removed a lot of my guides temporarily but you can still find then on my profile description in video form. I might re add them in the future.
i'm pretty sure this build will be able to handle it. i cant say for certain how well though
yea ethernet would work well
wanna explain or just be an ******* by giving me no feedback
alright no problem.
actually i once tried running a server from my house w/ 50Mb/s download and upload and it would run fine with 50 players.
oh wow the cx unit jumped up 20 dollars in price but i would still go for it over that just because it is semi-modular and that would help a lot w/ cable management since the case is so compact. plus the extra wattage is pointless in a build that needs 100W
o ok didn't realize ill take it off
It wasn't a matter of "I like Intel more than AMD" or vice versa, it was just the matter of the Pentium being the best suited processor for an entry level Minecraft server as it has very powerful cores at a very affordable price.
i just finished it up
thank you for the feedback, I will change some of that up, i didn't realize it needed so little storage!
i'm always a little bit sketchy on the PSUs that come with cases but i will see if i can find a small case that doesn't come with a psu.
actually do you know if theres a list or something that shows which boards support non-k OCs? where did u see that it gigabyte doesn't support it anymore; and couldn't you manually flash the old Bios over the updated by specifying a command switch for the flash utility (tell it to ignore BIOS versioning).
oh really i never realized thanks for pointing that out!
i'll fix that up
integrated GPU in the CPU
hey nice job that looks really good! +1
maybe post some fps on games when you get the chance!
but dang that is a tight squeeze!
ik it drives me insane when ppl say dumb stuff like that
also if u dont want to overclock u can build this one for ~250
its about the same price as this build atm. but yea gaming wise it would be better, however i wanted to keep the extra bit of cpu performance so that other tasks are not a pain.
