Hey, nice build! Love to see experienced bends in itx builds, there so appealing.
How are those are fans? Interested on attaching one to a downward airflow tower cooler because they look nice and I could use a performance upgrade. (About to get an i7)
How loud are they, and are they good for static pressure?
I used to have an optioned about 10 years back
PTSD sets in
Thanks! I guess it doesn't really matter which angle, more is better IMO! :D
Wow this looks stunning! I really appreciate the white GeForce led. Subtle, but not too. Do you think you could post a few more photos please?
This is a really great build looks like it should be featured! I love the poseidon cards, they're very versatile (and not too long, either!) My only concern is if you're waiting for HBM2 then you might be waiting a long, long time for it to reach the consumer side of the spectrum due to its high price. The P100 Tesla was quoted by some sites to be up to $12k, but I'm taking that with a grain of salt. Or a bucket. TL;DR HBM2 is probably not going to be available for the 1080 ti or even into 2017.
Thanks again for sharing your awesome build!
Oh that's awesome! I recently got involved in audiophile stuff so it piqued my interest.
Awesome looking build, and I like the pear! :D
I admire your setup a lot, and I was wondering if that orange box thingy was a flight sim controller or a stereo amp/ DAC
Again love the build, and the case too!
Awesome! Those three monitors look beastly to say the least! Excellent job on that build, and tell your friend how great a desk that is for me, it's got such a gorgeous finish
Good idea! I might just try that. A great way to get one of my infamous chairs is in any dump anywhere
Or your nan's house
I've actually seriously considered saving money for a 480, if I show any interest in some of the upcoming AAA titles at all. It's a really interesting card
Yeah, I know right? Maybe I should ditch the chair so I'm not too good! Thanks for taking the time to make a comment!
Yeah I know, right? Kinda wishing I waited so that I could get the 970 for about the same price of the 960
Thanks for your support man!
Thank you! It was really fun doing all this, thanks for your support!
Thanks! As you can imagine it was easy to come by!
Nice. If I were you I'd wait for a Polaris roadmap in case a higher-level GPU outperforms 390x crossfire, which would yield lower thermal output and less watt consumption, even though that doesn't seem to be an issue with that PSU :D
It is quite lovely. Seasonic makes excellent PSU's
Thanks for your input, this is very useful.
I got a Z97 motherboard because I plan to upgrade to an i5 4690k like you said, and I have already begun saving for it.
I kept my eye on the H7 and it was a close second, but I was concerned that I would not have clearance for the cooler, and the s524 was considerably quieter on paper.
It turns out (like you said) that the ram was $1-2 cheaper, so it made sense not only in performance, but also fiscally.
I've never really recorded temps but it's never throttled, which is what really counts. (IMO) The PC sits under a window so in winter time it cools very effectively from the outside :P
Yeah, jonnyguru has great informative reviews. I have no concern because if it lasts up to 3 years then I got my money's worth as far as I can tell.
Thanks man, it's been a lot of fun building the PC and posting it to the site!
So you do have Linux installed to the m.2 drive then.
Dumb question but is that m.2 ssd set as C: boot drive, and if so are its read/write speeds checking out? It's possible you have a bum ssd or rotten m.2 slot on that board.
I'm blue dabuhdeedabuhdyebuhdabuh....
But seriously, great build! :D
I love that board, it has everything
I have that same old build sitting dead in my basement lol... glad yours is running fine though
Wow, this looks way better than Luke's (salt to the earth)
I love the way you made the fan on top oriented, and even though you custom made the case it looks and seems to work a lot better!!
The paint job matches the style exactly, and looks really well done.
My only question is why use 960 instead of 970? I believe Asus offers a smaller card in 970 fashion.
I bet the base of this one works too...
This looks amazing. I love your dual layer setup like that. Di you remember what that desk is called? It looks exactly like what I need!
That's real sick bro. Water cooling looks like a nightmare in there but is stunning!
So I hear you like rgb fans. :D
+1 for breathtaking setup
Nice build! The case looks even cleaner inside than out, and it's a great looking case.
I admire your setup, which desk is that?
Hey, I'm looking to buy this case, but the bare aluminum is a pretty big turnoff... Any chance you could tell me where you got it powder coated? Or did you do it yourself?
Super clean and stylish; excellent cable management!!
Nice build. Love the setup too!
Dust filter looks like it's straight out of a vacuum cleaner :D
Seems kinda familiar, but this one is still one of the best I've ever seen!
Seriously well done
I'm speechless :D
Excellently done! I'm normally not a big fan of fractal cases, but this makes it look stunning!!
Chrome crashes every time I tryto open the images hahaha
Saw that case and was like,
"You wot m8"
Thought inwin tou was a legend, couldn't find it on the market anywhere when I first heard about it. This is a true dream build, congrats!!!!
Nice build mate,
Love that case and motherboard
nice build m8 love the case.
+1 for cat :D
It looks like you built the room to fit the desk. It fits so perfectly! xD
Super hyped and good luck to all!
Looks amazing, though I'm questioning why you need that CPU. ( ͡~ ͜ʖ ͡~)
In the future, you probably won't need even a 1000W PSU.
Still looks great, and that desk looks awesome.
Check out Singularity Computers (shameless plug) on YouTube and google. He's the best for water cooling. Nice rig mate.
Absolutely love that mouse, and I have been using it for almost 8 years now. Great for scrolling through excel, and functions well in-game. I'm disappointed that very few people use it nowadays...
The 970 is a great card, hands down. (Best mid-level card in my opinion)
I forgot about DirectX 12's use of GDDR5 in SLI, which is a fancy way of copying what you said. :P
I heard something about new nvidia SLI AND AMD Crossfire usage coming up in a DirectX 12 patch, though I (regretfully) dunno where I read that from.
I was only concerned about the 970 vs 980 ti because if the DX12 software doesn't turn out great, the 970's might turn out to be a serious bottleneck, emphasis on if.
Nice motherboard btw.
Nice build! Reminds me of an F1 car... I recommend getting 980 ti instead of 970's, because SLI technology isn't that great yet, and the 980 ti is an excellent card! +1
