ha! turn the cat into a closed loop cooler......I'm sure PETA would be intrigued hahaha
Sadly bought it used and it's past the return period lol. Oh well, the 980ti treats me just dandy for my gaming needs hahaha
if they follow a similar release schedule to the 900 series, the titan will come out near the end/beginning of 2017, with the 1080ti following suit sometime April/May 2017. Excited to see just how badly my 980ti will be whooped since I got it less than a month ago >.<
ouch man, ya you want to treat the side panels with a little TLC haha. How you digging the SG10?
don't you mean GPz? (gigapurrz)
essentially I think he is trying to say, all the excess cables were stuffed quick and dirty style into the side compartment out of sight out of mind lol
haha, I may do something similar for my boyfriend when/if he ever decides to do a new build, the case I built his in just...meh, antec 900. it was great in 2007 before I cared about wire management but ugh that case just....nope. I may end up using the air 240 for the next build I do :P
oh my, I loooove this build! Such Dragon; Wow Bad...***! Was eyeing that case at one point, but I felt it was still too...massive for my small'ish form factor portable aspiration.
Hey look I did the thing! Thank you for the inspiration! http://pcpartpicker.com/b/jGyfrH I may end up replacing the white fans that come with the phantek cooler with white riing 12s or maybe red. White mixes with just about any color lol.
Thanks again man!! Also, the feet fit perfectly on the aforementioned stand I spoke about in the older variant of your ttammy build.
I honestly haven't noticed all that much. I put the low noise adapters on the three Riing fans since they were a bit wooshy at full speed, now the system is noticeable but not nearly as loud as my old H100 loud *** pump LOL
I second the Phantek. Very quiet, good performance for it's size, and is ram slot friendly for the most part! I moved to this in my latest build from the old trusty H100 I've been running for the past 5 years. No regrets!
good god man, I know I thoroughly enjoyed my easy bake oven as a kid (80s yeahhhhhh) but I dunno how much I'd like having one for a pc hehe. At the very lease you could go the route on LinusTechTips and convert the system into a pizza slice warmer :P
+1 for not sure how you crammed all that in there AND not have it turn into it's base elements from the heat...so I'm not going to ask and going to back away....slowly....carefully...not wanting to awaken the lava beast sleeping within :3
You wanted more pics? I got more pics! :P
Update: New photos, fully finished, new PSU in, all fans installed, cable management could be a bit tighter but my finger tips are numb! hahaha. This case was an absolute blast to work in and so easy. My roommate walked in, turned around and walked out and ordered one...
AROOOO! you're welcome!
ha, I miss my old college pc. My very first build almost 15 years ago...I had NO clue what I was doing and I think the case made me bleed more times than I can count. You kids and your fancy cases without razor sharp edges..pffft. Sounded like a jet plane taking off thanks to the 60-80mm fans installed running at full blast the whole time.
How did you fare with stability using two different 980 variants?
It seems a bit fragile in terms of scratch-ability lol so be gentle and try not to drag it on any rough surfaces, along with the window panel. Otherwise, I am really digging the finish, it feels like it wants to be in a home theater setup (though the fractal node 804 is a nicer home theater feel but I digress lmao). I've only had thing case out of the box for less than 24 hours so time will tell.
I mean, the psu has been working stronk since I originally purchased it, and the whine didn't poke it's head until I got the 980ti. Generally it starts at any fps over 60, so vsync gets rid of or at least quiets it down a good deal. I myself am quite sensitive to those noises even with my headphones on...womp womp open back LOL. I may toss it in my parent's computer since their case came with a 400watt POS PSU lol. at least then I can stick an older gpu in it so they aren't stuck with integrated video :<
Grats on the first build! It's such a better time to just now be getting into building compared to 15 years ago before the likes of pcpartpicker >.<
System itself isn't too bad, though would definitely recommend investing in some custom cable extensions to pretty things up a bit.....but...that psu, I would really suggest looking up the Toms Hardware guide about PSU Tiers. Learn it, live it, love it. Budget PSUs can be troublesome due to shoddy capacitors and the like.
So...my advice would be to replace that PSU as soon as possible if you can afford it. You don't need to spend a lot, but so long as you pick out a PSU in at the very least Tier 3 for the bargain bin..I believe you'll be much better off down the road.
great job though for a first timer!
woof! lovely build. If only the core v21 existed in white and a decent matx z170 board....damnit that 970 looks simply yummy. Lucky client! Also..woof!
I fixed the image so it is now properly labeled which system is which :3
I decided to send it off with the case since my friend who's getting the case will be putting his i7-3770k in there and he was using his cough stock cooler currently haha. I decided against water cooling mainly since I am not going to be OC'ing and was able to shave $50 off the build going with that sick looking white phanteks cooler :P
More pics coming don't worry haha. At the last second last night I had decided to just finish up the build using my current PSU instead of waiting, otherwise I would have added more progress pics. It was mad late when I ended up in bed and am now regretting that decision...ZZzzZZZZZ
that's the old system haha. That had the z77x-ud3h. that was up there to show the gutted system. And thanks, I love these headphones. I have one of the mod mics so I can have the best of both worlds in terms of voice chat or pluck them off when just listening to tunes or movies.
I'm going to throw up more images tonight once I get the actual PSU I ordered installed, along with the rest of the case fans that should be being delivered any time now. I guess I should have made a visual note on the image LOL
ya, that's what I ended up doing in my build. Well I already HAD the white extensions from my old build they just happen to have found a new home in my V21 :P
haha, ya I just recently picked up one of the Vapor Flask Stouts for my daily driver. I don't do any fancy builds just stock Triton Claptons in my Atlantis.
so....should I send you my mailing address so you can ship that to me? :P
dang, well can't blame a guy for trying right? Great job man, talk about making a lot out of a small case. Words don't work here. Love it +++1
also, nice vape :P that an rnx200 or dna200?
hmm, with the LEDs and case internal being white, I would go with white cables, make them pop.
...10 years old and into LOL and DOTA...she's going to make the boys cry for sure!!
Wonderful build man, I only wished I had that kind of rig way back when I was 10....but that was in 1994 LOL, we had an IBM XT 8086 and Leisure Suit Larry!
Yay! so I see you also cashed in on the sweet $20 MIR of the FSP PSU. Hard to say no to T1 goodness for a steal of a price! Love the build, though I would highly suggest picking up some braided extensions for the GPU power to pretty things up a bit. I think those ribbon stock cables are too....rigid? at least they aren't the cruddy red/yellow/etc cables!
Thanks! The worst part about upgrading/rebuilding is the whole wasted parts thing. I would rather see every part that is still usable keep being used one way or another. The only part I would not cry to see go to the recycling bin in the sky is the OCZ power supply....coil whine city while gaming lol.
Pretty much every build I've done in the past 10 years in some way or another is still in use. My boyfriend has my 2007 rig which I've upgraded with my hand-me-down i5-2500k, p67 mobo and one of the gtx760 SLI setup I just replaced with the 980ti. My brother is getting the other gtx760 to replace his 9800gtx and he's getting the i5-3570k and z77x mobo/ram. My biggest fear of course is parts suddenly giving up the ghost the moment I hand them down lol
This legit made me bark out laugh in the middle of the office. At first was like "well ya this is pretty funny.....and then the stream of gummy bear bags....that is where I lost it.
holy moly is that a pretty build. LOVE the color scheme!
I ended up getting 3 white Riing 14 for the exhaust and two of the white led cougar 140mm for the intake next to the gpu. The Riings should be here tomorrow can't wait but the cougars showed up yesterday. I hooked them up in my current rig to see how they are and damn, they are quiet even at full speed and emit a nice gentle glow. Should look nice with the Riings :P going to start building tonight!
That's exactly my fear too lol. I want to build in this case but worry. I have a MSI 980ti that uses the same looking twin frozr cooler.
Thanks for the quick response, the stand I am using should be long enough as it fits my current gigantic Corsair 600T's 4 feet. I figure there would be overhang but if the stump legs are sitting flush that would work. The stand platform measures about 16" and change long and 11.25" wide. hahaha, I'm sorry for making this complicated than it has to. I really want this case to work.
Thanks again man!
I'm looking at building similarly and using Riings too, though how well would the airflow be if I just used the 200mm in the front, 2 120 left side gpu fans (for the msi 980ti), the rear 140mm, and just a push config 240mm on the right?
Also, the feet on the bottom, what is the measurement from the edge of the feet to the other? The stand I'll be using is only 11.25" wide and want to make sure all 4 feet are sitting flush lol.
haha! ya this is an old thread but this is EXACTLY what I'm doing for my brother. back in 2009 I built him a C2D E8400 rig in this case with a 9800gtx2, though back then my cable management skills lacked severely. He asked me to help breathe new life into his pc though his budget is extremely tight (mortgage, his kid, hell his wife) but he is able to sneak away every so often to revisit his favorite oldies like the Sims, WoW, etc.
haha, sorry for the late reply >.< but yes it works great :3
Not a bad buy :) I sure as hell wish my first build was like that haha. But that was back in like 2001 and my case liked to slice my fingers up >.>
Ok I went through all my invoices and tried to match up the best I could. The 2tb hard drive price was ATROCIOUS because that was the tail end of 2011 when the prices on HDD's were through the roof because of the tsunami. Also took into account mail in rebates.
And even worse, the cost of ram seemed to have swapped around too...16gb costing 80-90 bucks in 2011 now it's like $170...
The cans are superb if I don't say so myself...just know that these aren't for bassheads hehe. Gaming is great and I got myself one of those micmods for the headphones to turn it into a makeshift headset the best of both worlds. Jazz, Classical, some rock and metal. These babies shine just don't try to go all dubstep on them or they will cry bloody tears lol.
That is a valid point haha. I'll have to dig around for invoices...I know the vid cards I got boned because I went the best buy route with them...but only because I had $200 in best buy gift cards heh. I will poke around with this in the morrow.
Why thank you :3
I had no clue that was a thing. Though to be perfectly honest, I had purchased the first 760 before I had considered getting the 1440P monitor and I was well beyond return period lol
