Well there it is
Yeah I like my profile pic. Really represents me as a human being.
Exactly what I said isn't it?
Hmm yeah he does have 1440p monitors, so that would help. But I suppose everyone has got their reasons. I mean power consumption and noise are significantly less in the 970.
Maybe provide some feedback as to why you think that? PCPartPicker is meant to be a helpful community, so by simply saying Meh you aren't contributing anything valuable to the discussion.
Do you have a link to that sweet decal?
Haha don't sweat it, it looks terrific!
Wow great job! You can always tell when it's someones first build by the amount of LEDs haha
Would love to see more pics!
Nice! Have fun with your new build!
Looks amazing! Btw, stupid question, does the FTW logo on the graphics card light up? Love the Blackwidow btw.
How is the m9i in terms of sound? Is it extremely loud, or manageable? I'm asking because I want to build a mini-itx build with the 6600k and I'm on the prowl for a good air cooler that isn't too loud.
Awesome sounds good!
Nice part choices! Would love to see more pics though!
Np thanks a lot!
I don't think he included all the parts in the parts list. As you can see, the GPU appears in the picture, but not on the list. I assume the same thing applies to the PSU, since it is covered buy the sleeve on the H440.
Looks great! In my opinion a bit unbalanced, with the 950 and all, but overall a very nice build for your stepdad. I see he's a Razer fan.
Alright thanks a bunch!
Nice build! +1 for the MX Master, going to build with it soon. I'll be using it for college, video editing and such, nice to know that it is good for gaming as well!
Alright thanks so much!
Wow great build! How loud is that CPU cooler by the way, I'm interested in maybe getting it.
Did the CPU cooler cover up RAM slots? I'm thinking of using the same case and cooler, I was just worried about the clearance and such.
I believe so. I hope he's just using it for now until Pascal or something, because that GPU just does not hold up today.
I know right? It's like he blows dust on it on purpose.
How is that CPU cooler? I was thinking about getting that case and water coolers are just so damn expensive.
Looks good! Next time I would format the explanation a bit better since I lost interest from the first sentence.
No you don't come across as aggressive, and you make a compelling argument. I just meant to question the price, not his preference. Thanks!
Ok I get that. But you didn't specify height I thought you meant surface area by saying "larger." I understand preference but $50 is a lot more to pay for a keyboard compared to say a graphics card. It just comes down to proportions in price.
Yeah but you can get a keyboard just as good as that for $20. And what? Mech keyboard keys are not big at all so I have no idea what you're talking about. It's about preference between flat keys and more pushy ones.
Hmm why that keyboard? That's awfully expensive for a membrane. Razer has a mech one for $75, maybe should've looked into that?
A worse PSU will first of all last less than a top tier one, and it will give you lower power efficiency plus worse build quality. I seriously would have put more research before putting this together, especially since you're trying to cut costs yet you spend an immense amount on RAM and a core i7.
I mean that H97 boards can't overclock. If you didn't want to overclock there was no reason to spend $50 more on an unlocked processor.
It works the opposite way, and only for skylake. Z170 motherboards could overclock non overclockable skylake chips, not the other way around. I think he just didn't put any research into the topic.
Huh. Not gonna lie kind of a weird build. So you get a top notch i7 with a locked motherboard, a low tier PSU with high tier parts, I don't know I would change that up before adding anything else, and maybe if you want the LEDs get a case with a window.
Nice build! I would be careful with the price though, those Mail-In Rebates are tricky, not sure MSI allows them.
Thanks for the +1! Appreciate that. Yeah I was just trying to voice my opinion, it looks good overall.
Thanks, I have some though.
Oh I though X99A were allowed... I mean I didn't pick it but it's in the rules I think.
Looks good! However I think that with that budget you can get a higher tier PSU, I think the RM series is considered Tier 2 by now. Maybe check out Corsair's AX series or EVGA's G2 or P2. Also maybe 4x4 16 GB RAM is not the best idea. It's more expensive than just 2x8, and you're getting less upgradeablity. Check out my build maybe?
Ok, I didn't mean to roast your build or anything I just wanted to let you know that you might be getting less power for the price.
Looks good! Really nothing I would change, except you still have some room in that budget to add something in, perhaps a mouse or something if you need it. Take a look at mine maybe?
Sorry for advertising, but any feedback would be nice on my build guide.
But it's totally worth it. A single 980 would outperform that, but a 980 isn't really worth the cost vs. performance. Your best choice here is to either cut the cost on some of those components, for example the RAM. You only really need 16 GB, and that cuts the cost by like $150. And that wireless network adapter is pretty expensive. I don't know, SLI is usually not worth it since you only really get the VRAM of one card, and a lot of games don't even support it. I would just go with a single, more powerful card. It seems everybody else picked a 980ti, so essentially if you win you're getting a lot less performance than anyone else.
It went over $2000 dude, might want to change that before yours gets disqualified.
Looks nice, but two 960s? I get your explanation but really any higher card would beat the SLI.
Looks great! Was the 1 TB SSD necessary though? It's cheaper to get a 1 TB HDD plus a 500 GB SSD.
