Gaming and software development, and occasional rendering/editing while gaming.
Motherboard is MSI Tomahawk B450. And I just realized I followed the wrong wire. I found it, it's not connected. Doh!
But which fan port should I connect it to?
Ah, I could't tell if you were saying it was enough wattage or not. What do you think tho about that? Mind you, in addition to the parts listed, a camera and video streaming service will both be connected via USB.
This can be taken a couple different ways. Not sure what you're meaning. :D
Thanks again, you've been very helpful during this build. Wish we had some sort of endorsement feature on here or something. :D
Thanks, I ordered the one from BHP (first link).
Question on memory; will this one be ok (already ordered but can return if needed):
It's like out of stock everywhere. Any good alternative suggested?
It's telling me "MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX ATX AM4 Motherboard and AMD Ryzen 7 2700X 3.7 GHz 8-Core Processor are not compatible."
Thank you, this was VERY insightful!
What if we need to add a graphics card later for some reason? Would CPU be lagging behind the i5?
Leaves me wondering if the i5 I have is better than this Ryzen?
Quad core? The I5 I have has 6 cores. ?
It seems like so far the suggestions is for gaming. But what about for camera and video streaming service which both connect via USB?
I'm not sure the "cheap office pc" mentioned would be good enough. And the ones with gaming gpu's seem overkill?
Why everyone going Ryzen? I've always been an intel man myself.
I wasn't shooting for a gaming PC. In my original post; "to allow a camera and video streaming service which both connect via USB".
What makes this better? I mean it looks like a trade off of CPU to have a graphics card.
Will you finance this pc for me?
How much of a difference is it between 2666 and 3000. Noticeable?
Oof....should I change it to 2666 and call it a day or return the sticks and get ones that are 2666?
ASRock B356M Pro4
Thanks for that well thought out reply. :)
I'll probably go with the be quiet one you mentioned. About the i5 8400 - that appears significantly slower, eh?
Oh and the reason for the trump article? LOL
Nice, thank you! Will that run fine on stock fan that comes with it?
Dang it, I got the wrong chip. Which one closest to this price point with same performance has the integrated graphics?
Thanks for that suggestion. Very nice. One question, i'm partial to Intel - what would be an equivalent performance and price wise?
This looks great! only issue is the mobo only has 1 hdmi port....
Why does it change over time tho? I don't get it.
Sorry, missed that. Done now.
Edited my post and updated it with answers to your question.
Is it smaller than a regular ATX case? For example, is it smaller than this?
I think as long as it has one ssd and one hdd slot i'm good.
Just compatible with the other parts. Good cable management and easy to work with. Not too big.
I think this may work: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/T3rG3C/cooler-master-case-nse200kkn1
Any good suggestion?
Thought GPU should be AMD also, since the CPU is AMD?
Sorry to be a pest, just trying to get this right for a good friend. :)
it looks like he has this in the machine:
AMD Radeon HD 6410D
He recently bought the 1080p monitor and complains the picture isn't as clear as his old monitor. He only has VGA connection. So I figured a new GPU would give him the HDMI to drive the new monitor. So the GT 1030 would work on this?
The CPU is AMD A4-3420
Cool, what is a good site to check the mobo on?
Yeah, that's a hassle for little return. I'd just eat the $100 in that case. LOL
Thanks for the input! :)
This is the link to it at best buy:
Got it at best buy for $349; nice deal couldn't pass up
Fantastic ! Thanks for the quick reply since i'm in the throes of doing this. Also, have you noticed it seems on a completely white screen the sides (about an inch all around) seem a little darker than the center of the panel?
Best buy has it for $349 right now. That's what i just bought it for yesterday.
I just got this monitor. Could you share your color settings? :)
Ok, that makes sense. Thanks a ton! :-)
