Seems to be good. I have a massive CPU cooler though, so not sure how much difference I'd notice. It's quiet enough and runs smoothly.

Just built in this case and love it too, though yours is now making me wish there was an ITX board for AM3+ so I'd have a nice shelf for my mini figs too :D

Slick build, love how the case turned out, and nice clean cabling too. And that canine portable drive, you don't often see those. +1

Take a look at the linked v.2 build. It's a Rosewill U3, aka Jonsbo U3.

I never found one. Something about the boards requiring more space for chips? I'd love to get into ITX, but it looks like at the moment that would require Intel.

"Barry's Node 804 Build" has my vote. For its beef, not its chips.

The 804 is more multipurpose than the others with the slim CD drive, and while I'd love to try an ITX build soon the Nano S part list just doesn't have as much oomph and the Node 304 looks like finger pain! I'm keen to try out the m2, Cryorig liquid cooler, and HUE setup in Barry's build. Cryorig's style fits well with the Fractal cases. The only change I'd make is trading 16 GB of that RAM for more storage, since I don't do graphics processing. It's a sweet little machine setup though. Doritos is the crunch on top :D

Lots of pics in this instance has been very helpful to me, I just picked up the same case and am planning to reconfig my build into it. Haven't found any good in-depth reviews of the X-Qpack3 online anywhere, so it's user-uploaded content that wins the day :3

How much height clearance is there for CPU cooler? I just bought this case and hoping my monster Zalman cooler will fit in it, or at least my old EVO.

Great theme! +1

I bought mine in Canada through Newegg, they were the only retailer carrying it. It's out of stock here now though. Try searching for the model through Jonsbo U3 or Cooltek U3 instead of under Rosewill. Good luck!

I don't do a lot of heavy gaming, just Path of Exile usually these days. Going by the temps reported in the ASRock Tuning Utility. I don't know GPU temp cuz it doesn't report that, only CPU and Mobo. Thanks for +1 =)

+1 for nice clear pics! They sure help deciding on parts. I've got the same CPU cooler, installing it in a mATX tower soon, hopefully it's not too heavy. Is there any strain on your mobo from the heavy cooler?

I've ordered this mobo and am trying to find dimensions of it from CPU socket to the edge of the board, and CPU socket to the main graphics card slot to figure out what air coolers will be compatible. Any chance you could grab measurements off your board? ASRock's site/manuals/FAQs are so unhelpful.

Go team red! +1

Thanks for the comments!

I'm way under the limits of that PSU (~450W) so not too worried about it. If my next iteration is mATX I'll probably be getting a Silverstone SFX anyway.

The FX CPU has been great for multitasking, I've always got about a dozen browser windows open, with Steam, Evernote, and Dropbox running, and whatever else programs I'm working with at the time. It's been fast and clean the whole time. Only problems come from my newb-ness at installing and configuring things.

The green Gigabyte box is a WiFi card that I didn't end up using in the build. Got a new CAT6 and ran it to the router instead.

+1 Nice build! I'm hoping to take mine along these same lines with a b&w scheme.

Where did you hear about fx8/970 issues? Just curious. I've got my 8320 running in this one http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p and it's fine so far, but I'd like to know if I should be looking for a better cooler along the way. Incredible work. After all the time and effort spent in the woodwork, why paint it over with white? A clear finish showing off the wood grain would make the whole thing look steampunk.

Fantastic effort, love the uniqueness.
