Seems to be good. I have a massive CPU cooler though, so not sure how much difference I'd notice. It's quiet enough and runs smoothly.
Yep. 80 or 120mm, one spot.
See here at 08:40: https://youtu.be/HxkA7sK0Qn4
It's a 120.
Just built in this case and love it too, though yours is now making me wish there was an ITX board for AM3+ so I'd have a nice shelf for my mini figs too :D
watches email eagerly
Now I see why you need more pics =D
Slick build, love how the case turned out, and nice clean cabling too. And that canine portable drive, you don't often see those. +1
Slick clean build, great quality photos. +1
Here ya go.
Take a look at the linked v.2 build. It's a Rosewill U3, aka Jonsbo U3.
I never found one. Something about the boards requiring more space for chips? I'd love to get into ITX, but it looks like at the moment that would require Intel.
Mhmm. This triple-fan Zalman is like a football. A pretty, shiny, HEAVY, blue-glowing paininthearse football.
+1 for name. I can hear Orson Welles' evil laughter from here.
Beauty. Thanks for the pics with full desktop setup for scale. +1
"Barry's Node 804 Build" has my vote. For its beef, not its chips.
The 804 is more multipurpose than the others with the slim CD drive, and while I'd love to try an ITX build soon the Nano S part list just doesn't have as much oomph and the Node 304 looks like finger pain! I'm keen to try out the m2, Cryorig liquid cooler, and HUE setup in Barry's build. Cryorig's style fits well with the Fractal cases. The only change I'd make is trading 16 GB of that RAM for more storage, since I don't do graphics processing. It's a sweet little machine setup though. Doritos is the crunch on top :D
Took me a while to realize you made it into not just a terrarium, but a a freaking FOUNTAIN. That takes some guts.
Sweet idea, great execution. Hope your succulents like it too :D
Lots of pics in this instance has been very helpful to me, I just picked up the same case and am planning to reconfig my build into it. Haven't found any good in-depth reviews of the X-Qpack3 online anywhere, so it's user-uploaded content that wins the day :3
+1 for awesome pics.
How much height clearance is there for CPU cooler? I just bought this case and hoping my monster Zalman cooler will fit in it, or at least my old EVO.
Great theme! +1
+1 for photos 10-11, showing the immersive world and its reality. Awesome build.
Well my ram overclocked itself by default, and it's running fine. I haven't tried to OC otherwise though so couldn't say.
I bought mine in Canada through Newegg, they were the only retailer carrying it. It's out of stock here now though. Try searching for the model through Jonsbo U3 or Cooltek U3 instead of under Rosewill. Good luck!
I don't do a lot of heavy gaming, just Path of Exile usually these days. Going by the temps reported in the ASRock Tuning Utility. I don't know GPU temp cuz it doesn't report that, only CPU and Mobo. Thanks for +1 =)
Just built in the same case and loving it. +1 for gorgeous pics!
+1 for nice clear pics! They sure help deciding on parts.
I've got the same CPU cooler, installing it in a mATX tower soon, hopefully it's not too heavy. Is there any strain on your mobo from the heavy cooler?
I know the pain of trying to play games with someone on a slow laptop! For the longest time it was me with the bad rig, now it's the bf. Siiigh. Pretty awesome of you to build a rig for your sweetie, nice work too. Happy gaming +1
Ah no worries. Thanks for the reply. The mobo should arrive soon anyway so I can measure then, just impatient! ^;;
I've ordered this mobo and am trying to find dimensions of it from CPU socket to the edge of the board, and CPU socket to the main graphics card slot to figure out what air coolers will be compatible. Any chance you could grab measurements off your board? ASRock's site/manuals/FAQs are so unhelpful.
Go team red! +1
Nice build. What did you think of the V21 to build in?
MEOW. Your gf rocks, both for the kitty and the keys.
+1 for nice clean paint. How do you like that keyboard for feel and use? I'm looking to upgrade my Deathstalker as stiff chiclet keys are no fun.
Thanks for the comments!
I'm way under the limits of that PSU (~450W) so not too worried about it. If my next iteration is mATX I'll probably be getting a Silverstone SFX anyway.
The FX CPU has been great for multitasking, I've always got about a dozen browser windows open, with Steam, Evernote, and Dropbox running, and whatever else programs I'm working with at the time. It's been fast and clean the whole time. Only problems come from my newb-ness at installing and configuring things.
The green Gigabyte box is a WiFi card that I didn't end up using in the build. Got a new CAT6 and ran it to the router instead.
The pic of your build next to the xbox 360 is exactly the size comparison I was looking for! Thanks for sharing the great build and detailed description. +1
I'm also hoping to see more "guts" shots of this all assembled. My next build will definitely be a smaller form, mITX or MicroATX, and this case is fab. Thanks for sharing!
+1 Nice build! I'm hoping to take mine along these same lines with a b&w scheme.
Where did you hear about fx8/970 issues? Just curious. I've got my 8320 running in this one http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-ga970aud3p and it's fine so far, but I'd like to know if I should be looking for a better cooler along the way. (Build here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/stax/saved/4kKNnQ)
+1 for sweet pics, love the last one showing off the contrast. Making me wish I'd bought white LED instead of purple. Nice build!
+1 for name and good use/description of the white LED fans.
Nice mod on the optical drive. I've got a mesh front for my new case too and looking at how to keep that cohesive look and still get all the parts I want.
Incredible work. After all the time and effort spent in the woodwork, why paint it over with white? A clear finish showing off the wood grain would make the whole thing look steampunk.
Fantastic effort, love the uniqueness.
