Comment reply on Forum Topic "Friend I’ve known for 5 years blocked me"

(she only knew him for about 3 months maybe)

I don't know whats wrong with dating someone after knowing them for 3 months. Lol seems pretty normal.

Yesterday, I accidentally sent her a picture that said “Your future spouse is currently walking around making memories they’ll tell you about someday” then I said I accidentally sent it to her, then she said something like “wow” and as an inside joke, I told her “Are you flirting with me?”

Accident? yeah ok.

She just blocked me and I even asked her boyfriend (who is also my friend) and he saw that she blocked me and tried to stop her, but she refused.

You should not ask someones significant other for help figuring out something as a means of circumventing the person entirely. Thats pretty scummy.

What’s going to be funny is that her parents are so fond of me for some reason and now they’re probably going to be wondering why she blocked me, because they’re eventually going to find out. I’m honestly curious as to what she’s going to say.

She isn't going to care. Her parents don't decide who she dates and blocks, she does. They aren't going to tell her to unblock you and she will magically like you and be your friend again.

People change. She changed. Maybe she doesn't care for you anymore. Maybe hat 2 whole years she acted distant was because she didn't want to be your friend anymore. Maybe she was trying to distance herself from you and only gave you a gift out of obligation not because she wanted to. Sucks, but thats life.

side note, do you have any romantic interest in her? Sounds as thought you might.

I'm too cheap to ever buy expensive cards and luckily with MTG you don't need to spend money to be competitive. There is a website (i'll find link in a minute) that sells $4.99 decks (used cards in various condition) that are more than competitive at Friday Night Magic.

My wife and I recently got back into MTG. We play with some of her coworkers (in their mid 40s) and her older brother and his GF. We have cheaper newer cards but some of the people we play with have tens of thousands of dollars of alpha/beta/revised cards. One dude has a played beta lotus, full mox, full revised duals, etc and plays them all often. Most of my cards are post 2010, and even with tons of mythics most of my decks aren't worth over $10. My wife and I have probably 15,000 bulk cards and one of her co workers has single cards worth more than everything we have. One dude who played seriously since Alpha has around $200,000 in just alpha/beta cards.

Hard to watch for sure. America (and to a lesser extent western Europe) is just better at women's sports usually due to the fact that we/they encourage girls to play sports at a young age if they desire instead of pushing them into more traditional female roles the way eastern culture/Asia/Africa does.

I explained this. There is often a panel where the tank is accessible, OR it is a force flush system (no tank) like most American public toilets.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "Toilets"

A normal tank is behind the wall. Have you never seen a dual flush toilet before?

They are common in the USA. They have 2 button that drain a different amount of water from the tank based on size selected.

most have panels where the buttons are to access the tank. Any bathroom without this uses a tankless force system as seen on ANY public restroom in the USA.

Let down and disappointment are a part of life. There will be small ones and huge ones throughout your time here on Earth. What's important to remember is that the potential happiness/joy outweighs the possible let down, and therefore it is always worth it to take the chance and try something. Life will be stale if you run from sad feelings, but it will be rewarding and fruitful if you take chances and roll with the punches.

Ask her out in person. Set the precedent for the rest of your life. Do you want to be someone who forms relationships/friendships over the internet/via screens or do you want to be someone who is personable and enjoyable to be around and thrives in in-person settings?

The choice is yours.

Generally you won't have to tip food service workers like waiters and such. In Europe they pay people enough money to survive so they don't need tips like they do here.

Don't act like an idiot. Be respectful. Don't talk loudly/shout in public. Don't talk on your phone on public transport.

I have a lot of favorites. Right now I have a 2010 S2 rx8. Last night the cat failed and shot molten chunks of flaming honeycomb catalyst material out the exhaust on the highway. Big sparks/fire show. I pulled the car pipe out and replaced with my test pipe.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OBG3Y3bd0Vs&feature=youtu.be

here is a video of the car sans cat pipe with just an open header. It sounds loud/awful. LOL

Credit is something a lot of young people don't think about until they need it and at that point, its too late. Most apartments want a credit check before you get to rent, some people need to finance a vehicle, maybe you transfer student loans to your name from parents, etc.

Most of those things are difficult/impossible with no credit/young credit.

Are you currently working a paid job?

Yeah. I am a Geospatial Engineer currently working for a large government contractor on a software development project where we fly drones in conflict areas in the world with LiDAR sensors and map these areas in 3D.

Do you like working there?

Honestly, its pretty good. The pay is awesome for my age and the flexibility to go full remote/work from home whenever I want to is very nice .

Do you have any passion for what you do?

Developing software and analyzing big data? No. Contributing to the mission and noble cause? Yes.

If not why do you continue to work there?

I sort of answered this earlier but the pay is good and the flexibility is incredible.

How long have you been working at your current job?

20 months

Have you had any jobs in the past?

Mowed lawns, works food service, worked retail, worked for other LiDAR companies mapping non-government projects, worked in oil and gas, performed risk mitigation analysis, and other software dev stuff.

If so were they better or worse than what you are currently working?

I like what I do now and I have liked and disliked my past jobs. I like this current position more than most of my other jobs though.

Do you currently work in a career?

Yes. There is a ton of upward mobility and potential for my field/industry.

Comment reply on Forum Topic "This means I should replace my alternator, right?"

It won't be the alternator. It'll be the pulley bearing as stated by the other commenters. Luckily this isn't a complicated part to replace or an expensive part to replace (sub $200).

A whine that whines louder under acceleration is often a water pump impeller or transmission related. Does it whine in neutral if you rev the engine? If so, it's not transmission.

Tea with ginger in it.
Ginger ale.
Ginger anything.

Honestly you need to determine if its a hunger/bloated pain or an ulcer pain.

Got a solid amount of food in there. Eat some stuff that's easy on a sour stomach like banana, rice, plain crackers, bread, etc. See if it goes away. If it doesn't, it could be an ulcer.

If it feels more like pain in your intestine like being bloated, like you might have to take a mean **** in an hour, try eating some bacteria such as real yogurt to get things balanced back out.

This is absolutely disturbing.

It's so real when someone we know and see on the forums here has something like this happen. You are a friend to us all. Do not forget that. We are here for you.

It's times like these we need to come together and support one another. I, and I'm sure most everyone else here, can only imagine what this must have been like, but it's important that we try our best to understand fully what you went through, though we likely wont be able to fully comprehend the violence and savageness of actually being present for this. It's vital that we support you and support one another.

Something important to remember here, is that you are a hero. You did what you needed to do to save your life, and that is beyond respectable.

When I heard the second shots, I started panicking. I turned of the lights, and locked the door. The windows were already previously covered with paper. I had goosebumps and I felt like fainting.

It doesn't sound like you panicked to me. You knew what to do. You acted swiftly and did EXACTLY the right thing. You should be proud of yourself. Damn proud. By turning off the lights and locking the door, you likely prevented them from targeting your room, thus saving yourself and anyone else inside. As I said before, you are a hero. Do not let anyone tell you otherwise.

You have been through a ton, and its important that you take time to process it and work through it. Working with a licensed therapist is an extremely helpful and useful tool when it comes to processing these feelings.

Take care man. You and your friends/classmates will be in my thoughts.

Jesus Christ that's cheap.

In the USA, commuting distance to any major city, in a safe area, these would be 3-5x the cost.

I lived in a 2 bed apartment in Denver that was averagely nice from 2015-2016 and it was $2400 for rent without any utilities or parking included.

Nah, you are just referencing the joke meme non-legitimate karma store people made as like a funny add-on.

The real legit karma store is official and very much a thing, but the entry requirement is 10k karma. It was originally created as a sort of joke by the staff in the early days of the forums here, thinking no one would ever get to 10k karma, but one user, vagabond139, has passed 10k karma and entered the legit store.
