Description

had this planned for 4 years wasn't sure when the right time to build something like this then i ended up with the EVGA 3060 ti xc and 5600x cpu - update purchased 2 noctua case fans they needed to be 92x14mm the cpu is just getting to hot for my liking so was the 2.5 inch hdd it was stuttering when i put a game on it looking into a external solution no biggie eventually i will get a ssd and a bigger m.2. - update got both case fans in the top and the temps are fantastic in this case, also got a external hdd enclosure for storing my games for now it works well cant complain, overall this is a dream come true all the power of a large desktop with very little compromises

Part Reviews

CPU

it was an improvement over the 3600 by a pretty fair margin stays nice and cool boosts like it should 10/10

CPU Cooler

good little coolers its the quality we all know and come to expect form noctua added one case fan in this build and my temps are perfect

Motherboard

the reason i went with this board is many, first of all it was the cheapest and u can imagine where most of my money went, but the biggest reason is the riser cable in this build to hook the gpu up is pcie 3.0 so to use a pcie 4.0 motherboard and and a 4.0 gpu u need a u guessed it 4.0 pcie riser cable meh.... cable wasn't worth the 60 bucks to me, it does not overclock but as u can imagine i wont be doing any of that in this scenario anyway, has more features than a few others ive seen wifi bluetooth the board does upto 5100 mhz ram speed!, and overall just fit the bill

Memory

got this ram from a good friend a year ago for free cant go wrong there also it reaches its 4000 mhz rated speed.

Storage

been awesome had it since late September

Storage

its ok slow i took it out i oedrered a 3.5 external enclosure for my 3.5 inch drive ill update when its here

Video Card

i loooove evga they make quality cards and this one is no exception fantastic temps compact size massive performance the entire build would not have happened if not for this guy

Power Supply

600 watts of platinum goodness in a compact design very quiet to mine is a modded model to make it fully modular u can get from geeek.com the same folks i got my case from so far so good

Nice! I was wondering, why are you using the A520 chipset for Ryzen 5000 series? Iirc, a520 is lower end chipset. Otherwise, awesome build!

thanks appreciate it, and it was the cheapest board i could find and also the case uses a specific pcie riser cable that is pcie 3.0 and to use a pcie 4.0 gpu with a 4.0 mb u need a 4.0 riser cable and those aren't cheap also i didn't know if it would even work because the one that comes with the case is designed for the case and honestly this little board has a lot of nice features

So, would you suggest using the queue system that EVGA has to get a 3060ti. I currently have a build I just completed and it has a temporary MSI 1050ti low profile. I've heard that the queue system is an option.

I'm not sure what that is honestly maybe ill look into it - update yeah i got both my ryzen 5600x and 3060 ti from my local computer store

the noctua its capable to run the 5600x at 4.6 ghz?

currently my temps are a bit high because ive been waiting on case fans that will go in the top of the case so ill report back when the build is completely done im fairly sure it will because its better than the stock wraith stealth that comes with the 5600x

update the noctua l9a can absolutely cool the 5600x at stock if u have decent cooling in your case as well I'm getting a max of 75c after long gaming sessions

hi, i loved your build! I have a 600w platinum upgrade that I am missing the 24 pin ATX cable that I lost, if you would be so kind, could you send me a photo of the cable please. To this email: 6bakai6@gmail.com

Awesome Build!

This also my dream build, I am about halfway done, my only problem is the GPU, I have an Asus Phoenix 3060 (from Newegg shuffle), but I think it's too fat for this case, I may trade for an EVGA RTX 3060 or hoping I get an email from EVGA letting me know of the Ti availability for me to purchase. Just waiting on the case to come in and test fit this GPU.

Thanks for inspiring me to complete my build!

your very welcome thank your for the kind words, I had an issue with this build.. I pulled it apart to clean it and dusted out the psu and put it all back together and it would not boot... I used a atx power supply I had on hand and it booted right up sent the psu back and the company said it was fine. and they also said they would give me a full refund because sending it back would cost 50 bucks, so I went back to a more traditional itx build and got a different gpu it may have just been a fluke but I didn't want to wait 2 weeks for a replacement. so it wasn't long lived unfortunately but hey I have a case and fans a and a cpu cooler for sale lmao make u a steal on it the case is already assembled that takes a lot of hassle out it trust me

Balls lol, I have almost everything, just have to wait on PSU now because they are out of stock, I was able to acquire an EVGA GPU as well. Well I hope someone else comes and buys off of you, or you can put it up for sale on hardwareswap in reddit.

One more question, I practically have everything, the case fans were they pull or exhaust fans? I was thinking exhaust since GPU actually forces heat to upwards in that position.

I decided to go with SFFTEC's Black Edition if the Enhance 600W flex ATX. We'll see how that goes, they said it's semi custom because of shorter cables and quieter fan.

definitely use them to exhaust air up out of the top works well
