Description
Overkill build for gaming/streaming/video editing/browsing. This is my first time building a PC, extremely happy with how well it turned out. Booted on first attempt :)
Mistakes made:
-
Overpaid for some components (mobo, SSDs) without checking their price history first
-
Bought an AIO with RGB fans before learning that radiator fans can be swapped
-
Mounted some fans on the wrong side of a fan bracket (bruh)
-
Forgot to plug a DP cable into the upright graphics card before finishing the build
-
Didn't have enough USB 2.0 headers for the AIO pump, fan hub, and Strimmer hub. Thankfully, I was able to combine the AIO pump and Strimmer hub cables into one (5+4 pins into a single header)
-
Bought 7800 MHz RAM but setting it above 7200 MHz causes stability issues.
Inspired by the following builds:

Part Reviews
CPU
It's fast, I guess? But you should not buy this CPU unless you want to deal with a relatively higher risk of failure. High-end AMD CPUs are better anyway when it comes to gaming.
CPU Cooler
Extremely sleek AIO, would recommend getting the cheaper non-RGB version and swapping the fans for daisy-chainable ones.
Motherboard
Great future-proofish motherboard with pretty much every feature most users might look for.
⚠ Only two USB 2.0 headers so you'll have to merge some cables if you need more (Lian-Li fan hub + Lian-Li Strimmer hub + AIO pump in my case)
Memory
I can't manage to run it at 7800 MHz on a ROG Maximus Z790 Hero without getting an instant BSOD, but it runs fine at 7200 MHz.
Video Card
Very sleek looking card and an absolute beast. Some coil whine while gaming but nothing too scary. No melting issues with the power connector so far.
Case
Mounting the GPU upright looks very nice, though I had trouble plugging the DisplayPort cable in once installed. I installed 13 fans and a 360mm radiator with no issue. My 200mm PSU fits after removing some parts from the back chamber, but it is tight and makes the cable management harder.
Power Supply
Dead-silent PSU, with a ton of wattage to spare for future PC upgrades. 200mm is quite big, but it fits in my O11D EVO after removing some parts from the back chamber. I had some trouble using the cable combs, but I may just be stupid.
Case Fan
Make sure to install the fan clusters in the right direction and to plug them into the correct ports of your fan hub, or the RGB effects will not display properly. I wish Lian-Li would add an update to their software to address this issue.
Case Fan
Awesome addition to Lian-Li's fan lineup so you can use their Infinity fans in their full glory! Make sure to install the fan clusters in the right direction and to plug them into the correct ports of your fan hub, or the RGB effects will not display properly. I wish Lian-Li would add an update to their software to address this issue.
